The icon of the all-merciful Savior helps from what. The merciful saved prayer. Active rest - who is FOR

The picturesque town of the Yaroslavl region - Tutaev (former Romanovo-Borisoglebsk).
The Resurrection Cathedral is the main decoration of the city. Built on the right bank of the Volga, it occupies a dominant position, as if hovering over the city, and is visible from all sides. In a small town on the Volga, they were able to build a temple "with the whole world", which, with its huge size, sophistication and richness of decoration, can compete with the largest buildings in Moscow and Yaroslavl.
During Tutaev's two visits to the Resurrection Cathedral, Patriarch Alexy II led the service, who called the cathedral "majestic, magnificent."

It is important to understand that the Resurrection Cathedral is not only the pearl of Tutaev himself, it is the pearl of all Russian architecture, and specifically a unique architectural monument of the Yaroslavl stone architecture of the 17th century.
The cathedral consists of two churches - the lower (warm, winter) and the upper (cold, summer). lower church Smolensk icon Mother of God built a little earlier. Upper - Resurrection - the temple and the gallery surrounding it from three sides - a few years later. The height of the lower church is 5 meters, the upper one is 13.5 meters (up to the dome 24).

In this temple is the Miraculous Icon of the All-Merciful Savior. This huge, about three meters, icon is called " Image miraculous All-Merciful Savior." According to legend, it belongs to the brush of the holy reverend Dionisy Glushitsky, a native of the Vologda province, who lived in the 15th century. The icon is so cloudy due to the fact that at that time the icons were covered with sunflower oil for preservation, and it darkens from time to time. A layer of oil was removed from all the icons of the cathedral, but for some reason they did not stop this one.

Resurrection Cathedral. Tutaev

However, the legendary news diverge from the opinion of experts. In particular, the art historian L. V. Nersesyan, who studied the icon in detail, argues that by all indications the image should be attributed to the 17th century.

Initially, the icon was located in the dome (it was the "sky") of a wooden temple in honor of the holy princes Boris and Gleb, which explains its large size (three meters in height). When the stone temple was built, the icon of the Savior was transferred to the summer Resurrection Church.

The icon, which has darkened from time to time, has a chest image of Jesus Christ; His right hand folded in a blessing gesture; in the left hand is an open Gospel. Such an image in the iconography of Christ belongs to the type of "Pantocrator" or, in Greek, "Almighty". The face of the Savior occupies the main part of the space of the icon, the blessing hand and the Gospel are disproportionate to the face, which, perhaps, indicates a change in the original plan of the icon painter, who intended to create an image of the “Christmas Manned” type. Ornate clouds are depicted around the perimeter of the icon.

For many centuries of being in the temple, this image of the All-Merciful Savior was repeatedly glorified by miracles - the icon became miraculous. For this reason, lists were repeatedly made from her. One of them, created in Romanov - an important icon center Volga region, now located in the Andrei Rublev Museum.

In 1749, by order of Metropolitan Arseny of Rostov, the icon was taken from the cathedral to the bishop's house. And although in 1763 Arseniy was deprived of the rank of metropolitan for criticizing Catherine's policy, demoted to a monk and exiled to a monastery, the icon continued to remain in the metropolitan's chambers. Only almost half a century later, in 1798, the icon was returned to the Resurrection Cathedral. From Rostov to Borisoglebsk the image was carried in their arms.

From that time on, miracles of healing from physical and spiritual illnesses began to be performed at the holy image. At the expense of grateful parishioners and pilgrims in 1850, the icon was decorated with a silver-gilded crown and a gilded riza, weighing more than 35 kg. The crown and riza were confiscated by the Bolsheviks in 1923. The crown that is currently on the icon is a copy of it. The robe has disappeared without a trace.

In summer, the image of the Almighty Savior is located in the upper, cold, church of the Resurrection Cathedral, in winter it “moves” to the lower, heated one.

There is a long tradition of crawling on your knees under the miraculous icon of the Savior with a prayer. For this, a special window has been arranged in the icon case under the icon.

Every year, for several decades, on July 2, a cathedral holiday has been celebrated in Tutaev. Pious Christians from the Resurrection Church along the banks of the Volga make a procession with the icon of the Savior.

Processions with the miraculous icon take place twice a year: on the last Sunday before Ilyin's Day along the Romanovskaya (left-bank) side of Tutaev and on the tenth Sunday after Easter along the Borisoglebskaya (right-bank) side.

The metal structure was created to carry the icon during religious processions. The arches were most likely invented for convenience - men carry a structure with an icon on their shoulders, those who wish to pass under the icon. Arches - so as not to bend down at the same time. And then they thought of climbing under them during stops.
The miraculous image is carried out of the church on a special stretcher and a procession with the icon of the Savior is made through the streets of the city with singing and prayers.
And then, at will, believers climb into the hole under the icon - a healing manhole, and crawl on their knees or squatting under the "All-Merciful Savior" with a prayer for healing.

One of the manifestations of the "miraculous" icon is that a woman who has cheated on her husband at least once cannot see Jesus on the icon.

All past centuries, a list of healings from the miraculous icon was kept. The image of the All-Merciful Savior is one of the most revered icons not only for a single Tutaev church, but for the entire Yaroslavl diocese.

Tutaev is sometimes called the cities of three shrines. It is to them that pilgrims from all over Russia come to bow.
The first is the miraculous image of the Savior in the Resurrection Cathedral, we spoke about it above.
The second - the icon "Addition of the mind" in the Church of the Intercession. We talked about her last time.
The third shrine of Tutaev - the grave of the Archimandrite of Russia Orthodox Church Paul (Gruzdev), which is located at the Leontievsky cemetery (on the Romanov side).

According to legend, three miles before Borisoglebsk, on the banks of the Kovat River, they decided to wash the image from road dust, and at this place they hammered a key, which is still revered as holy and healing. In memory of this event, prayers are performed near this place, and it is also customary to make a procession with the image of the Savior around the city on the tenth Sunday after Easter. Until the end of the 19th century, the procession went only along the Borisoglebskaya side. After the celebration of the 900th anniversary of the baptism of Russia, it was established to make a procession along the left bank - on the last Sunday before the feast of Elijah the Prophet.

It is called "The Not Made Image of the All-Merciful Savior". Oh, how impatient we humans are! The heavens tremble from the eternal cry: “Post? Why did You send sickness or suffering on me?” We grumble, forgetting that if there are no sorrows, then there is no salvation. There is another way - repentance. But who can determine the measure of human repentance? Who else if not the All-Merciful Savior - the Lord Almighty? He does not send misfortunes, but allows them to enter our lives so that we turn to Him, the loving Heavenly Father.

AT ancient city Tutaev has an amazing icon of the All-Merciful Savior, in front of which for several centuries now, prayers of repentance have been offered up. According to legend, the Tutaev icon “The Image of the All-Merciful Savior Not Made by Hands” was painted in the 15th century by Dionisy Glushitsky for the church of St. Boris and Gleb. The size of this icon is striking - 3 meters in height and almost the same width. The fact is that the Image of the Savior Not Made by Hands was painted for the dome of a wooden church. Now it is kept in the temple of the city of Tutaev. Many thousands of believers come to the miraculous image with prayers for help and repentance.

O My Merciful Savior, look upon Thy servant, drowning in the sea of worldly temptations and troubles, and, as if drowning Peter of old, save by Thy grace, sanctify the soul and establish on the path of Thy commandments, yes with a pure heart and my lips cry out to Thee with love: Alleluia.

The apartment was irrevocably and deafeningly quiet. The first thing that Marina Lvovna found out when she was on a well-deserved rest was that life with all its sounds flows past your house, which has become an island of silence. The second discovery is that time has become viscous and clumsy. Now every day was a day off. Wiping invisible dust (because she did not have time to accumulate), the woman fanned the frame with a portrait of an overseas granddaughter - a dear but incomprehensible little man who called her grendmaza and sat for hours with a laptop.

- Well, what kind of activity for a child is a laptop? Marina Lvovna asked herself. I remember this from my childhood...

And she remembered a sunny day in the forest, in which young Marinka and her friends played "war". Making her way through the park in search of the enemy army, she heard a groan. Looking around, she saw Pashka Morozov with an awkwardly bent leg. Marina, feeling like a nurse carrying a wounded man from the field, she muttered encouragingly: “It’s okay, a fighter, everything will be fine!” And Pashka shot her brown eyes and pecked awkwardly on the cheek. And then the park exploded with laughter and bumps that replaced their armies with live ammunition ...

Smiling at the memory, Marina Lvovna shook her head - life, like water, runs - you can’t hold it. Suddenly everything swayed before her eyes: an unbearable light shed from an old grandmother's icon, which depicted the Image of the Savior Not Made by Hands.

"Go," an unfamiliar voice commanded her. And she went ... went to the elevator, and there she saw an elderly man who had fallen on the stairwell.
"What's the matter with you," Marina Lvovna asked frightened. You feel bad? Let me call an ambulance. What's your name?
Morozov Pavel Sergeevich. I have a bad heart.
- How? Pasha... is that you?

And Marina Petrovna screamed into the telephone receiver as if she wanted to shout to the mountain peaks:
Help, please help. And remembering the icon - the All-Merciful Savior, do not leave, help!

ALL-MERCIOUS SAVING.
Road from Yaroslavl. Very early morning. Rybinsk and Uglich are ahead. And you need to stop by for half an hour in the inconspicuous town of Tutaev. It stuck in my memory that there is the Resurrection Cathedral on the mountain. Yes, only this half an hour eventually turned into half a day, and a huge layer of history from the depths of centuries that appeared before us.

We ended up on the right bank of the Volga. Borisoglebskaya side. On the other side was the Romanovskaya side and 6 churches, because of which the warm July sun rose. The Resurrection Cathedral towered and burned in this sun, and there was a premonition of something great.

And here is the bus with Bryansk numbers. Only 700(!) km just for the sake of today. Pilgrims with backpacks. Right before our eyes, a wave of people began to arrive at the Cathedral.

There are more than one thousand people. And new ones keep coming. And the service had not yet begun, and outside the fence of the Cathedral, we suddenly saw a miracle!!! Huge icon. On a special stand-stretcher. All in flowers.

I'll digress a bit into history. In the old good times stood still stone Cathedral wooden temple. And in it, under the dome, the icon of the All-Merciful Savior towered over the parishioners. It was of great size, 2 meters 78 centimeters wide and 3 meters 20 centimeters high.
And when they built a stone temple, she moved from heaven to earth. Different reasons then called. And the fact that she was especially revered by the Old Believers, and the fact that she was just a human weakness, but only they took her to Rostov to the bishop's house. And for 44 years, from 1749 to 1793 she was there. For the same number of years, Borisoglebtsy fought for her return. And when the go-ahead for the return was given, they carried her back in the procession in their arms. Crown weighing more than 30 kg. made in memory of that procession, when not far from the Resurrection Cathedral at a halt, a holy spring opened. Ivan the Terrible, when he took Kazan, overpowered many eminent Tatars in this city. They behaved inappropriately towards the churches, but they were very afraid of the Savior. In modern times, they all came to Orthodoxy, and the famous Yusupov family is from here. And in Soviet time The cathedral was not closed for a day, and according to legend, the reason is the same: atheist communists were afraid of the Savior for their inappropriate attitude towards the church. Anyway. We were transported back to that already becoming hot summer morning.

There was no way to enter the cathedral. The icon also had a sea of people. The queue and the passage on their knees under the Spas. There was such a joyous feeling in the air! And these moments dragged on for more than one hour.

At some point, a wave passed through the white handkerchiefs. Priests began to emerge from the doors of the Cathedral. Men with concentrated faces. Many with towels around their necks. No less than 60 people. They took hold of the iron structure-stand and began to take the icon out of the fence.

Along the high bank of the Volga. Downhill. We're almost running. It's hard for men. Sweat, dust and great joy. Everything was mixed up in those moments. There is a ferry on the coast.

They are already waiting on the other side in Romanovo. Well, let's dive into history a little more. More than a hundred years ago, they decided that the All-Merciful Savior would go in procession on the last Sunday in front of Elijah the Prophet on the Romanov side. And since then, except Soviet period, so it was. For Romanovo, this is a great holiday. The whole day the icon visits each of the six Romanovo churches in turn and returns home only in the evening. Toward evening, tables are laid in the fence of the Spaso-Arkhangelsk Church and the Romanovites treat everyone to a hearty dinner. The All-Merciful Savior, by the way, is not the only miraculous icon of Romanov-Borisoglebsk. On the left bank, in the Church of the Intercession, there is an icon with the amazing name "Increasing the Mind". As the legend says, once upon a time (the date of the painting of the image is unknown), one icon painter went crazy, and the Mother of God appeared to him in a dream, who insisted that he paint her image. The icon painter, having created the icon, was healed, and after the icon was placed in the temple, people suffering from various mental illnesses began to be healed from it. Mind Up also helps young people when they do not do well in their studies or fail to pass an exam.
Here is the icon of the All-Merciful Savior being brought onto the ferry. A huge mass of people does not fit on it. Many travel by motorboat. The rest are waiting for the return of the ferry. Old women standing nearby are arguing with passion how many ferry walkers will be needed to transport all the people to Romanovo!

Well... We were standing on the shore. There was a road ahead. And the soul was on the left bank of the great Russian river...

The city of Tutaev does not live well, even despite the fact that many mansions are being built here now, and recently a whole block of elite housing has grown in the very center, which the people unpretentiously called "Santa Barbara". The fact is that the local engine plant went bankrupt, and, as a result of the deplorable state of the city-forming enterprise, social pessimism, street crime and ... dirt. Yes Yes! We have not proved that the lack of faith in a bright future leads to complete neglect of the rules of cleanliness of the place where you live. Well, as for the mansions, everything is clear here without any economic theories: after all, ordinary workers went bankrupt, and the owners probably became even richer. while modern quarters have grown on the Borisoglebsk (right) side (well, "Santa Barbara" to boot), the Romanov (left) side has remained a charming provincial corner with many motifs inherent in such places, starting with the quiet nature of the Romanovs and ending with a large number of ancient temples. But something got [...]
