working thread - the one with which the knot is tied.

Thread fastening based
First, we fix the threads (ropes) on the base. The basis can be a thread (which, perhaps, will later be involved in weaving), a wooden plank, a twig, a ring, a bag handle, etc. There are several types of fasteners, the simplest and most common are fastening with a lock outside and fastening with a lock inside.

Fastening with a lock outside : we put the thread bent in half in the middle on the base; we bend it over the base, then we drag the ends into the resulting loop and gently tighten.

Lock fastening inside - the same thing, but on the other hand: here we put the thread bent in half under the warp and bend the loop forward, we also put the ends of the thread into it and tighten it. It is better to tighten medium, not too weak (otherwise it will bloom), but also not to overdo it.

There are also options extended mount threads (when you need them to take up more space on the base).

There are many more types of thread attachment to get started, but more on that another time.

So, the threads are safely fixed, you can knit knots.

square knot

The same knot is called the “double flat knot”; it is the basis of many patterns and combinations of knots. Almost no product can do without it.
The square knot consists of two elements - two flat knots (and therefore double flat!).
Right hand knot + left hand knot = square knot.
The order of weaving is shown in the photo:

Photo 1-5 shows a right side flat knot; photos 6-8 illustrate the tying of a left-sided flat knot. Woven one after another, they form a square knot.

Chain of square knots - these are several square knots tied one after another.

And if you tie only single (or left, or right) flat knots, you get a beautiful twisted chain .

When weaving such chains, working threads are consumed about four times faster than warps. This must be taken into account when calculating threads for a future product.

Rep knot

Without it, too - nowhere, but only with its use you can weave a great many of the most complex and beautiful patterns. (But there's more to come!)

Horizontal rep knot.

4 threads are involved in weaving (Fig. 1)

The left thread is the base. She is stabbed with a pin and turned to the right (Fig. 2)

The second thread on the left is the working one. In accordance with the photo, we wrap the base with two loops and carefully tighten them one by one (Fig. 3-7). It is better not to tighten it tightly - it will be uneven, but not too weak, otherwise the knot will turn out to be loose and ugly.

We tie the same knots with all the threads in turn, from left to right. We have a series of horizontal (according to the position of the base) rep knots (Fig. 8). In macrame it is called
brid.

To practice more, let's turn the base in the other direction (Fig. 9-10), and weave another brida.

When weaving a fabric from rep knots, the working threads should be about 8 times longer than the finished product.

Vertical rep knot.
Once we have mastered the horizontal knots, mastering the vertical one will not be difficult at all. This is the same knot, but tied on a vertical base.

Is there some more diagonal rep knots . About them it is clear from the name - they are performed on a diagonally located basis.

Nuance: when weaving them, it is important to fix the threads with pins, something like in the photo. This will make it much smoother.

What can be weaved with these knots now?

Bracelets for children;

Leash for dog;

Braid the handle of the basket with a twisted chain of flat knots;

Maybe even a simple belt!

Using the macrame technique, you can make a lot of very beautiful wicker things. Including a simple openwork belt with beads.

It is based on two nodes:

  • flat double
  • rep (in our version - diagonal)

The main element of the pattern is a rhombus made of rep diagonal knots. It is woven from 6 threads, and a bead is woven inside.

We take 6 threads - photo 1. The base is the third thread on the left side - photo 2. On the basis of weaving 3 rep knots from three identical threads - photo 3, 4. Then the base changes - it becomes a thread that forms a diagonal knot, 1- th on the left side - photo 5, 6. We now have the upper two sides of the rhombus, then weave in the bead. We take the thread from the second diagonal knot on the left side and stretch it through the bead - photo 7-9. For the convenience of pulling, you can either cut the thread obliquely with scissors or melt it (if it is made of synthetics), or smear it with glue and let it dry (to make it look like a tip on shoelaces). Next, the warp threads need to be bent towards the middle of the weave at an angle of 90 degrees and weave the remaining sides of the rhombus. To do this, we make 2 diagonal knots on each warp thread, and the first of them are the extreme threads, but the second ones are already crossed. Let us explain: the thread with the bead was first left, and it is woven on the right half - photos 10, 11, 12.

Thus, when the rhombus is ready, we proceed to weaving the belt itself.

We pin twelve threads to a special pillow for macrame, leaving about forty centimeters behind the pin.

We do not touch three threads on the right side and on the left (which are at the edges), but weave on six middle threads. We weave, as mentioned earlier, a rhombus with a bead in the center.

The rhombus was woven, now we will trim 6 threads on the left side (three of them from the rhombus). Further weaving is carried out on 6 right threads. According to the photographs, we weave the next rhombus, which is located end-to-end with the first. In general, if you use pins for fixing during work, then the product turns out to be more even.

Agree, it's nice to have beautiful and exclusive things and it's really not difficult to make them with your own hands. And today I'll show you how to weave an elegant macrame belt.
Materials:

  • Buckle
  • Threads
  • Pillow for weaving
  • English pins

Let's start:
On the crossbar of the buckle we hang threads 7 meters long - 8 pieces, if the buckle is wide, then you can hang the threads in an extended way.

We turn the left thread to the right - this is the warp thread. On it we weave rep knots with all other threads.

Next weave 4 square knots. And now weave a square knot of 4 middle threads.
On each side of the belt 2, we skip the extreme threads and weave from the edge to the center 3 rows of diagonal brids without intertwining them in the middle.

As you remember, on our sides 2 extreme threads are not touched and it's time to weave a single knotted chain with them (5 knots are enough).

Weave 2 square knots in the middle with central threads.

And now we turn the extreme working threads to the center and weave 3 rows of diagonal brids.
In the middle we weave 2 square knots (threads from the brid and from the previous square knots).
In the middle we weave two square knots (one under the other).

We skip 2 extreme threads on both sides and weave 3 rows of diagonal brid from the center to the edge.

Weave square knots in the middle: 1, 2, 1. And then weave two more square knots.

On the sides weave a nodular chain of 5 knots.

Now weave 1 square knot with extreme threads on each side.
We skip 2 extreme threads on both sides, weave diagonal brids - 3 rows to the center on both sides.
In the middle we make 2 square knots, on the sides a knot chain of 5 knots.

As you already understood, our pattern is repeated, and according to this principle, we weave the belt to the desired length.

It remains only to decide how to finish the weaving of the belt. And we will do it this way: weave 3 rows of diagonal brids from the edge to the center on both sides. And the fourth row, the last one, will be special. The technique that we will use is called a clean edge. While weaving the diagonal brid, we cut the threads, at the end we should have 4 threads left, with which we will weave a square knot in the middle.

We cut the threads and glue them on the back of the belt.
This completes the weaving of the belt, and you have a very fashionable and exclusive little thing.

The macrame technique arose a very long time ago, it was mastered back in those days when a person only learned to spin and knit knots. With the advent of weaving, they forgot about macrame, and then they remembered it again and already perceived it as a new type of needlework. Many mistakenly believe that macrame is a purely feminine type of needlework, because macrame is simply irreplaceable in the maritime business. Rigging, ladders, hammocks, mats and many other ship's gear... sailors have to learn the weaving of many knots, without thinking that they master the ancient macrame - one of the most favorite types of needlework for many craftswomen.

Since we are talking about men, I suggest you familiarize yourself with the photo tutorial on weaving a men's belt for trousers. Weaving a belt is not at all difficult, it is woven in a monotonous (weaving of the same knot is repeated) Portuguese weaving, called Quilted Cobra. This is one of the most famous types of weaving, recently popular fashionable Shamballa bracelets have been weaved in this way.

So, we are watching a master class on weaving a men's belt from a synthetic cord. You can also weave from a leather lace, then the belt will turn out to be more stylish, richer, suitable for any trousers of a brutal man)

By the way, girls) Very soon a men's holiday, can you make your beloved a gift - an exclusive handmade belt, weave? And one more surprise that you can present to your loved one is to invite the bartender of the show, professional bartenders in the team of Kirill Komlev, to dinner. If you are planning a party or any festive celebration, your guests will remember for a long time entertaining performances of bartenders, phenomenal dexterity and enchanting artistry of professionals while preparing cocktails that can enchant anyone) services for organizing a holiday for the soul with alcoholic beverages)

For work, we need a cord, how easy it is to weave depends on its thickness, the thicker it is, the lighter it is, as well as a steel buckle for a belt, scissors, a lighter or matches

The belt is woven from 5 pieces of cord

Belts macrame Can be worn with skirts, trousers, dresses. Unique jewelry made in the technique macrame their hands advantageous from natural materials

In this way, you can weave a belt from a cord of the desired color.

So let's get started!

We pass a couple more cords.

And we start weaving.

It turns out an interesting drawing.

Weave to the desired length.

Another belt made using the macrame technique:

The macrame technique lends itself to a variety of things and items of clothing. In this master class, we will tell you how to weave using a macrame belt, the weaving patterns of which are presented below.

For such a belt, you will need a cord of the appropriate thickness and color, as well as a ready-made buckle that has a “hook” mechanism.
The width of the product will be twelve working threads. Previously, for a macrame belt, you should take six ropes, the length of which will be four times longer than the length of the finished product. Working threads are fixed on one of the parts of the buckle in two additions. Thus, twelve threads are involved in the work.

Weaving begins on the left side, using the first four threads in the work. Two of them will be central, and two side ones will be workers, which perform a knot around the central ones. For the main knot, make a loop from the right thread and thread the left thread into it, as shown in the photo.

For a full knot, make another loop, but from the left thread and thread the right side thread into it. Thus, a complete knot is obtained from two half knots.

In a similar way, we braid the next two middle threads.

Since there are only twelve working threads, a belt with a width of three knots is obtained.

Weaving should be continued, knitting the same knots. The only difference is that in each row they will be offset, for which, in the second row, the two leftmost threads should be left inoperative. The result is an arrangement of knots in a checkerboard pattern. In the second row, only two full knots will fit on the width of the product.

In the third row of knots there will be three again.

Unused side threads of even rows will form a beautiful edge.
