Exit from the physical body. Astral. The mechanics of the astral exit and the problem of separation from the body The method described by Alice Bailey

Here I have a puzzle on the topic of the mechanics of separation with the body in the astral exit, and I realized where to dig.

So, what comes out of our body? And we get a complex of sensory sensations about the world in the form of our conditional body: visual, sounds, sensory, kinesthetics, smells, tastes. In the process, by mental effort, you can change your body to any other, if you have an idea about its composition and functioning. See postings at thunderingfaith about successful transformations.

The visible world around us, all the objects with which our body interacts, are also provided in the form of visual and tactile sensations by our experience of these objects, as well as some assumptions (such as passing through a wall). It is believed that all life experience is recorded at least in the brain, but in fact it is contained in this information dimension, which we call the astral, the world of dreams, the world of spirits, etc. The brain is just a codec that transforms these experiences into bodily sensations.

Created from our memory, we go out into the world created by our memory. At least in the early stages. In 99.999% of cases, we are NOT talking about entering the real world, but only in our memory of it. This is evidenced by the numerous inconsistencies of various scales that a person encounters in the astral plane. So if you in the astral see your cat passing through the wall, this does not mean that he is also in the astral. This means that in your memory there is an element "cat" in the element "apartment", and also the relationship between the cat and the apartment is recorded - the free movement of one in the other.

That small fraction of a percent, where, nevertheless, we are talking about entering the real world and obtaining real information, refers to people with already present far-sightedness, with the rudiments of telepathy and with intuition already developed to a large extent. In short, people with psychic abilities. Such people, even outside the context of astral exits, can participate in the "Battle of psychics" and successfully predict exact events or guess very specific information without mantic tools. The astral exit gives them only a certain sensory setting in which the receipt of information unfolds, however, the information itself goes through the extrasensory channel.

Can be in real life ask someone to write a certain number on a piece of paper and put it in an envelope, and then go into the astral plane and go see this number. In the vast majority of cases, the number read will not correspond to reality. A person will find the desired envelope in the desired place, because already knows that the envelope lies in this place. He will also most likely see some number there, because already knows that there will be a number, not a word, for example. But a person will receive the exact number itself only if he guessed this number, and without going into the astral plane.

Ways to enter the astral are perfectly described by Mikhail Raduga and carefully chewed, checked and rechecked on his forum. He focuses on reaching the so-called phase state, a state of the brain in which the exit becomes possible. With the help of simple tricks, the purpose of which is to deceive the brain a little, the physical body is put to sleep, but the consciousness wakes up in that part of it that contains the sensory complex described above. Sleeping the physical body is more successful due to its desensitization (sleep paralysis), achieved intentionally or naturally preserved after sleep.

Separation

The main problem that many people face is not to achieve a phase state, but to separate from the physical body. The phase state is achieved by almost everyone, whence Mikhail Raduga's optimistic statements about high level the success of phase outputs according to his methods. However, the phase state is not yet the way out.

Separation occurs when the organs of the physical body (eyes, ears, skin, etc.) stop sending signals about the surrounding world. But the consciousness is either still half-wake forcibly, or it is awakened by a strong intention to a minimum degree, so as not to disturb the body and not to wake it from sleep paralysis. Then the consciousness gives a signal to the sensory complex from the memory to "leave the body".

The phrase "get out of the body" is correct here only as far as we feel it with our sensory complex. In reality, nothing goes anywhere, and we are all lying in place in a complete set, like in that scene in The Matrix. The realism of the movement of the body in space is provided only by our memories of the corresponding movements in real life. I have done many experiments on this topic in recent times(handsome young) Swedish scientist Henrik Ehrsson.

And so I come to the very problem of separation.

Some people, by virtue of their life experience, are more tied to their physical body than everyone else. They feel pain more, they worry more about illnesses, injuries, bruises and scratches. They are inclined to see in every pain a deadly disease, or at least the forthcoming long, most severe torments. They get tired faster during physical exertion and get less pleasure from sports. They do not have the flexibility of muscles and joints and good conduction of nerves in the muscles, which, for example, deprives them of the happiness of dancing without thinking about movements, and even swimming. They chronically tangle their feet when dancing and sink like an ax when trying to learn to swim.

Their skin is in a constant anxious expectation of unpleasant sensations, and their whole body is in a mode of waiting for danger to their own integrity. The body puts the brain in this mode in order to take measures as quickly as possible to prevent contact with the source of unpleasant sensations in order to avoid damage and physical suffering. The skin plays the role of a constant watch on the borders of the body.

At the moment of leaving the body, the brain begins to feel some tactile signals along the contour of the body. On the one hand, he knows that the physical body is lying, on the other hand, something comes out there, and on the scale of the whole body. What if he leaves and doesn't come back? Without even asking the consciousness if the situation is under control, it automatically starts measures to stop this - it increases the level of adrenaline in the blood (the heartbeat begins to give throughout the body, awakening it), increases the desire to stretch, scratch or go to the toilet.

So this sensitive security system can be changed. True, the path to this is not easy, through breaking oneself, through I don’t want to and through I can’t.

Ways to solve the problem + personal experience

The first way: Strongly go in for sports. To fatigue, to muscle pain, to a terrible reluctance to return to the gym in a couple of days or run 10 laps around the stadium. If there is pleasure and a great desire to return to swing or jump, then this method is probably not the best. Although if the sport exhausts specifically, then it will do. Any contact martial arts will also work. The more tolerable pain is felt, the more effective.

The point is to forcibly lower the threshold of "anxiety" in the brain, to create new connections by repeatedly repeating the "I want - I don't get" model. "I want to stop - No, keep going!" "I want to lie down at home. - No, go run!" "I want to work out less today. - No, 10 minutes more!"

The second way: lower the comfortable temperature. For this house, you can dress in summer clothes and walk barefoot. Cover with a light blanket. Do not wear a jacket or warm sweater in an air-conditioned office. It is not necessary to bring to complete freezing. The temperature should be low enough to cause discomfort, but not so cold that you catch a cold. Pouring cold water after a shower may be suitable. Here, too, one must approach carefully and, if there is no practice, then do not pour ice water immediately, but start with cool water. My attempts at douching in the past have always resulted in minor colds after the first use, as I followed the standard guidelines and used really cold water.

The third way: Fasting and starvation. In my opinion, less brutal, but this is because, in terms of food, my brain has already been sufficiently pumped since childhood with all sorts of restrictions: I had ice cream, chocolate on big holidays, and the absence of vile cereals and food without onions was only at home, and at the nursery - garden-camps-sanatoriums with their standard sickening food, I chatted to the maximum. So I happened to stay half-starved quite often.

A combination of methods 1 and 3 may have worked for me.

First, last year I found a job with a built-in gym. I began to run a couple of times a week, terribly hating the treadmill, and the gym, and the TV opposite, and the music that I listened to on the iPod to kill boredom. I ran like this for three months, showing very low progress (at the beginning I could run 2 minutes at a time without switching to a step, after 3 months I brought it up to 4 minutes, which I am not at all proud of). After that, I began to feel sick even from the very smell of our gym, where for some reason it smelled of tarpaulin. It is unlikely that I will return there - I really feel bad. You will either have to look for another gym, or run down the street, which limits this sport to the season.

Secondly, for a reason that is still not clear to me, last year I decided to fast a little and made myself. Not because of some religious reasons, but purely to at least coincide with something. A month later, I had my first astral exit. A couple of weeks later - a very sluggish second. Then the body again remembered its former armor, softened, and since then, in almost all attempts to exit, I reach the desired phase state, but I can’t separate. The brain outside of my control begins to "strengthen the defenses" and sends out a chemical attack in the form of an adrenaline rush: "Danger! Danger!" The category of danger for him includes incomprehensible activity in the body, because. The anxiety threshold has gone up and is now in "better safe than sorry" mode. This can also include a painful desire to stretch. When I finally decide in the morning to stop trying to get out and finally stretch, it's almost like an orgasm all over my body. My brain sends endorphins into my bloodstream, encouraging me to stretch and wake up from sleep paralysis as quickly as possible after waking up.

For a phenomenon known as "astral projection" (out of the body), visits to other dimensions are quite frequent.

Astral projection involves non-fatal separation of consciousness from the physical body. This can happen when a person is under general anesthesia or under the influence of certain mind-altering drugs, or if the person is seriously ill or near death. Sometimes the spirit suddenly leaves the body of the normal, healthy people. There is a technique by which you can learn astral projection, such as a system of special exercises. Astral projection also often occurs in the higher stages of Eastern meditation. At the same time, it should be noted that it is not the goal of meditation, this is its usual side effect.

References to astral projection can be found in many cultures, some dating back to very ancient times. It is spoken of in the earliest Indian writings, the papyri of Egypt, and the rice manuscripts of China, where it deals with the art of magic and sorcery.

One of the primitive forms of astral projection involves the feeling that you are watching your own body from above, lying motionless below. Such cases are described very often. For example, Dr. Albert Hoffman, the first scientist to synthesize the powerful drug LSD, described his observations from above of his own body after accidentally taking a dose of the drug.

During an astral projection, consciousness can travel to virtually any physical location in the world. You can pay a visit to a neighbor or friend, or see what is on the other side of the globe. Some describe how they see the Earth from a great height. One Indian medicine man even claimed to have visited the Moon several times in his astral form and was well acquainted with its landscape.

In addition to traveling in our physical world, consciousness can also enter any of the many unknown astral worlds that are usually not perceived at all. AT Eastern teachings mention is made of the lower astral worlds inhabited by evil beings, and the higher ones inhabited by spiritually "advanced" creatures.
Robert A. Monroe, author of Travels Out of the Body, describes his time in the astral world, which he says is "a world of physical matter almost identical to ours." He concluded that this world "cannot be either the past or the present of our world." The society he met there did not use electricity and electrical appliances, internal combustion engines, gasoline and oil, but he saw locomotives and very strange huge cars there. Obviously, the time in the astral world does not in any way correspond to our time. It is in a different realm with its own past, present and future.
In addition to the astral world of physical matter described by Monroe, there are numerous astral worlds that exist in non-physical, non-material forms; they are inhabited by incorporeal beings. Therefore, in such a world there is no sequence of physical events, no youth or old age, no passage of time.

Astral projection, or travel from the physical body, often leads to a collision with other worlds, completely different from our physical reality. Everyday life. Time in them may flow in a completely different way, or it may not exist at all.

Everyone knows that astral projection carries some hidden dangers. It can lead to death if for some reason it is not possible to return to one's own body. It is believed that spirits may intentionally try to break the so-called "silver thread" in the hope of taking possession of the victim's body.

The dangers of out-of-body experiments are no secret, but if handled with care, the hidden benefits always outweigh the possible risks. You also need to remember that some people are not able to control the situation of leaving the physical body, they do not even try to specially leave their own body, this happens against their will.

Today it is meaningless to consider astral projections affecting unknown areas and dimensions. More interesting are cases of travel to distant places or other periods of time, the authenticity of which can be proven. Just such a case is given below as an example.

LB from California began experiencing astral projections before she even knew what they meant. She says: “I started having consciousness projections and astral projections (against my will) 20 years ago when I was a young girl. They scared me so much that I could not tell anyone about it - I thought that people would consider me crazy ... During the first astral projection, I found myself under the ceiling of my bedroom. I looked at my own motionless body. In my first astral projections, I never left the confines of my room."

And here is how she describes the late manifestations of astral projection:
“One night in 1948, I came out of my sleeping body and floated into the hallway, where I saw a thief in a cap trying to break the door. This scared me so much that I returned to my body. Now I heard rustling at the back door, went into the hallway and quietly dialed the neighbor's phone ... and told him that someone was trying to break into my apartment.
The neighbor went out, but found no one. That night my cat gave birth to kittens, and my neighbor claimed that I was woken up by her scratching at the door, trying to get in before she brought her offspring.

Then I showed him the splintered wood around the lock of the door. That was proof enough that someone was trying to break in!”
With other astral projections, L. B. observed phenomena that were only destined to happen. They did not refer to another place, but to a future period of time! Some of them were horrific tragedies, high-profile kidnappings, of others who had been abused. Each time, L.B. wrote down everything she saw: the state of the victim and a detailed description of the place where the person (or body) was located. She then forwarded the data to the Central Alert Registry in New York City, an agency that collects this information and uses a computer to try to correlate the data with subsequent incidents.

Newspaper articles later confirmed what L.B. had seen and convinced her (and the Caution Registry) that her descriptions were stunningly accurate. In one case, the victim was a boy who was severely beaten and forced into a pipe. In another, the victim was an 18-year-old girl who was stuffed into a sleeping bag, tied with ropes and left in the woods. Each time the astral projection happened at least a month before the murder was committed. Each time, L.B., without suspecting anything, crossed the time barrier and became a witness to scenes from the future!
L.B. left her own body many times and traveled to other time periods, which is quite interesting, but which can not be proven. Here is how she describes one such case:
“One night in 1967, I was transported to the court of Louis XIV and saw the ball in full swing - a wonderful sight. Everything was like a miniature, like I was watching a puppet show. The figurines were completely different from dolls, they had human, living features, and they moved gracefully. All were wearing white wigs and multi-colored luxurious costumes of the time.
Several books on astral projection describe ways to get out of your own body. Paul Twitchell, a writer who has paid much attention to this topic, is essentially offering the course he teaches based on an ancient method known as ekankar. Ekankar, he says, is a way of understanding God through the transfer of the soul. and soul transfer, explaining that the former, although somewhat similar to soul transfer, is a much more limited way out of the body.In various parts of the world, groups of students were formed who studied ekankar.

Stunning studies of this kind were carried out by the American professor Charles Hapgood and some other scientists using hypnosis. After the patient reached a deep hypnotic state, he was told that he was in a certain period of time in the future, and asked to tell what he saw. For example, the patient was suggested: “Now is the next Wednesday. You are holding the morning paper in your hands. What are the headings? The method has been quite successful. Many patients can report facts that looked exactly as they described them while in the hypnotic state.

Strange as it may seem, the information obtained in this way is much easier to confirm than the facts obtained using the more well-known age regression technique, in which the patient goes back to childhood, infancy, and finally to previous lives before his present incarnation. These facts are difficult, if not impossible, to truly investigate.

Visits to the future by hypnotic suggestion (at least in theory) can be undertaken by any hypnotizable individual, under the guidance of a professional, responsive hypnotist, of course.

Exit to the astral plane - dangers and methods of struggle. Let's consider what threatens travel through the astral worlds and what to do to prevent trouble.

In the article:

Exit to the astral plane - dangers that you should not be afraid of

Common danger of the astral and practice - sleep paralysis. It often happens not only among people who are engaged in obtaining out-of-body experience and traveling to other worlds and different levels of the astral. Sleep paralysis scares most people. During the condition, it is impossible to move even a finger, sometimes there is a feeling of pressure in the chest area.

Sleep paralysis.

Sleep paralysis has been known to people since antiquity: the ancestors believed that the brownie was strangling. Sleep paralysis is not dangerous passes quickly on its own. There is nothing to do with paralysis: you can't panic. If you relax and calm down, sleep paralysis will pass faster. The reason is too abrupt return to the body, which did not have time to “turn on”, and consciousness has already returned.

Another imaginary danger is the inability to return to the physical body. It is not the soul that travels, but consciousness or. The "gross" astral component remains in the body and acts as a guardian and beacon pointing the way back. It is enough for a beginner to think about the physical body for a return to occur. Getting into the astral is much more difficult than returning. The problem of exit is more acute than the loss of the physical body.

Astral Cord.

The astral cord is a silvery connecting thread with the physical body, which not all practitioners see or feel. Those familiar with the phenomenon argue that it is impossible to break the connection, causing separation from the physical body and death. Beginners sometimes lose the line - it's just the stress of the first trip.

What else is dangerous astral in the opinion of beginners - the ability to lose track of time. The feeling of the flow of time when staying in a parallel world is seriously different from the usual. The gross astral substance remaining in the physical body will surely attract the subtle, if necessary.

What is dangerous astral travel for people with health problems

Astral travel has contraindications.
For example, the condition is undesirable for people with diseases of the cardiovascular system. Diseases of the nervous system and respiratory problems are the causes of serious health problems, combined with the stress that a beginner experiences during the first trips or sleep paralysis.

The rest, not too serious diseases, disappear after the start of work on access to the astral worlds. The preparatory exercises necessary for the full development of the technique, raising the tone and increasing immunity, also have an impact.

Especially dangerous are the practices and classes of magic for people who are overly impressionable, nervous and unbalanced. Problems of any interest in the paranormal can exacerbate. Mental diseases are not worth talking about - this is a serious contraindication. A person with mental disorders, fascinated by the paranormal, runs the risk of becoming a patient in a psychiatric clinic.

Before engaging in rituals, studying a parallel world, or any other practices, it is necessary to resolve the difficulties associated with the physical and mental state. Depression and bad mood will interfere.

Is it dangerous to go into the astral plane - the essence of other worlds

One of the dangers - living in the astral entities. Parallel worlds are not empty, but inhabited by various creatures. not always dangerous, with some you can make friends. There are several rules when communicating with entities: politeness, respect, you should not meddle where they do not want to let you in - a person must remember that he is visiting.

Beginners sometimes break rules they don't know. No one will attack without warning - the person will be explained that actions are prohibited by local rules. If you ignore the warning, the traveler will be taken over by entities that act as law enforcement officers. If you seriously annoy them, get rid of nightmares will not work.

Not all entities on a psychic journey are benevolent or neutral: some require an energetic boost. Their main weapon is fear. Negative entities are to blame for nightmares. There are no consequences: after the leakage of energy, weakness is felt, and the impression of the journey is unpleasant.

Struggling with entities you can't be afraid in the astral plane. Fear and nervousness attract those who want to feed on energy. If a person is afraid, he is guaranteed to meet with horror in the astral plane. To be afraid - to give energy. Work on fears will not allow energy vampires annoy. If you had to face a strong opponent, you can always leave - moving in the astral plane is very different from the usual. Vampire entities also appear in ordinary dreams - almost everyone has nightmares.

The sharing of souls is another danger in the astral plane.

Another danger is the subsistence of the essence. Larvae, demons and other entities can come from the astral along with the soul. The work of destroying inhabited entities is difficult, but doable. Demon possession after travel is rare. Really bring a "visit" poltergeist.

Do the dangers of the astral affect the physical body?

For the physical body, the astral is no more harmful than ordinary sleep. A gross astral substance always remains in the body, which, in case of danger, will pull the subtle astral body back. The person will hear the alarm sound and wake up. Without a threat, it is difficult to wake up a traveler, like a person who did not get enough sleep the day before, during a deep sleep.

It is almost impossible to get physical damage in the astral plane: serious safety violations are necessary. If you harm the inhabitants of a parallel world, the entities will harm in return. Rarely does it come to physical harm, usually everything is limited to energy losses and obsessive nightmares.

After serious astral attacks and collisions, traces of beatings appear on the body. You need to break a lot of local laws and find a strong enough enemy. You should not worry about the physical condition, if you behave correctly and with dignity.

The astral world is far from being as scary as a beginner thinks. If you follow safety precautions, adventures in a parallel world will bring only positive emotions. During the journey, there is no threat to the physical body, a person will definitely return back - it is almost impossible to stay in the astral forever. Lurking Dangers - Inhabitants parallel worlds who do not mind feeding on human energy.

In contact with

Once upon a time, astral travel was associated by the majority only with science fiction films and books, but recently these, it would seem, secret knowledge became available. The most famous astral travelers are shamans who explore other worlds and get the knowledge they need from there. According to esotericists, absolutely anyone can go into the astral.

The difference between astral travel and sleep

There is only one way to get into the astral world - through a dream. In fact, sleep and astral travel are similar in many ways, but astral travel is a fully conscious sleep, when the physical body is separated from the mental, spiritual shell, but the mind does not sleep, as during ordinary sleep. The separation of the physical body from the spiritual takes place for every person every day, for this it is only necessary to fall asleep. Scientists have proven that when falling asleep, the mental body separates and is located exactly in the same position as the physical body, but about half a meter above the person.

Therefore, the main difference between ordinary sleep and immersion in the astral plane is manifested in the control of all the actions of the spiritual body by the mind, during ordinary sleep the brain rests and the maximum that can be surprising is dreams dictated to us most often by the subconscious.

How to enter the astral plane for a beginner. What you need to know

Anyone who is not very familiar with astral travel should not rush to move on to practice, first of all, you should pay attention to many nuances of entering the astral in order to protect yourself, as still a beginner in this practice, from dangerous consequences. Knowledge of such basic principles of astro travel as:

  • Sleep control. It consists in beginning to distinguish and highlight the exact moment when you fall asleep.
  • Development of visualization skill. It is necessary for at least a week to train the idea of how immersion into the astral has already taken place.
  • Self confidence. It is extremely important to be mentally prepared to enter the astral plane.
  • Calm. Often, beginners have a fear of not returning from the astral, so you should remain calm and understand that at any time, as soon as you want to return, you can do it.

A beginner should remember that rarely anyone manages to plunge into another world for the first few times. Therefore, do not be upset if nothing happened and you, for example, just fell asleep. It is important not to stop practicing, but to move slowly towards your goal - an exciting astrojourney.

What are the techniques for entering the astral plane?

Absolutely all techniques for entering the astral plane are designed to properly target the brain for the upcoming journey. The fact is that when a practitioner performs these simple techniques, he automatically disconnects from the outside world and turns off the internal monologue. Also, these techniques allow you to "swing" the body and start the vibrations necessary for astral practice.

By the way, masters of astrojourney rarely use preliminary techniques, because. their body has already worked out the technique of entering the astral to automatism, but it is recommended for beginners in this matter to start with the technique.

Methods, techniques for immersion in the astral

There are many ways to enter the astral, for this reason, a beginner in the practice of astral travel should, after trying several techniques for immersion, choose the most convenient for himself and practice it daily, this is how the ability to enter the astral develops.

A fairly well-known method of immersion in the astral plane is the so-called vortex method. The essence of this method is to follow a special vegetarian diet, as well as to refuse to drink coffee, alcohol, cigarettes for at least two weeks.

Next, you should take a sitting position (make sure that the back is straight and the energy passes unhindered), without crossing arms and legs. Also, a well-known practitioner of astral travel, Minnie Keeler, recommends that you have a glass of clean water nearby, which, according to her, will protect you during practice from evil spirits living in the astral plane.

After completing several breath cycles, you should imagine that you are in the center of a large cone. With the help of consciousness, one should rise to the top of the cone, then imagine oneself inside the vortex movement, while identifying with the top of the cone. This visualization should be repeated until the shell of the cone bursts and you are outside with the help of a whirlwind.

It should be noted that the vortex method is best for those who have a well-established practice of visualization, as with its help it helps to transfer attention from the body to the mind. This method also has other options:

  • You are in a barrel, gradually filled with water, when the water fills the barrel, you should find a hole in it on the side and through it go into the astral.
  • You are sitting on a carpet through which steam passes, imagine that you are this same steam and rise up, leaving the body.

Technique for the beginner

One of the easiest ways for beginners is to memorize about 10 basic items in one of the rooms of their apartment, the smell of the room, the lighting and the general atmosphere. Then, having already left the room, you need to close your eyes and imagine yourself in this room again. If all the information about the room was collected correctly, then it will be possible to present it without much difficulty. In the future, traveling along already familiar mental routes, you can develop more and more the ability to astral exit.

hypnotic way

With the help of hypnosis, you can go to the astral for those for whom the visualization method is very difficult, or other methods of visiting the astral. Such immunity occurs when a person's consciousness is closed or inhibited. The hypnotic method allows, bypassing the impact on the consciousness and mind of a person, to work with his subconscious.

There are two options for this technique:

  • the practitioner entering the astral plane himself enters a trance using the technique of self-hypnosis;
  • hypnotic effect on the subconscious is provided by a specialist.

It is worth noting that several self-hypnosis techniques have been identified, many of them are described in some detail in the specialized literature and do not pose a serious danger to the practitioner.

Method "Swing"

Such a way of traveling to the astral as "Swing" is an imaginary swing. It has no restrictions on its use and, accordingly, everyone can use it. The essence of this method is that, having taken a comfortable position and closing your eyes, you need to imagine how heat spreads through the body and how Sun rays caress the body. Next, you need to imagine that you are riding on a swing, which gradually accelerates and lifts you into the sky itself, you should not be afraid, but you need to break away from the swing to fly. In the first sessions, it is recommended to land close to your body, as you progress in this technique, you can go on a “journey” to any place, but you should always start moving from the body.

Method "Swing"

Through astral contact

One of the safe techniques is considered to be an exit to another reality with the help of astral contact or, in other words, a mentor. But one should take a rather serious approach to choosing a practice partner, because. The main burden lies on him, not on you. It is the teacher who will help you immerse yourself in the astral and, if necessary, help you return, fully controlling your stay outside the body. In addition, there are stories among astrotravellers about how dishonest mentors, at the time of the journey of the mental body, planted another soul in the physical body, leaving the practitioner beyond the threshold of the real world.

Method from Alice Bailey

Alice Bailey's method is to move consciousness into the head before going to sleep, and in no case should you lose control of consciousness, as in normal falling asleep. It is necessary to strive to ensure that the consciousness remains active - this is very important for entering the astral. Thanks to the development of the ability to relax and gradually shift consciousness from the whole body to the head, one can learn to control oneself when entering the astral world. But, unfortunately, this method cannot be called fast-acting; it will take a very long time to master astral travel with it.

Method from Kate Harari

Keith Harari's technique is not the easiest method of preparing for entering the astral plane. According to this method, your task is to choose a room in the apartment that you like the most. After the choice is made, it is also necessary to find a place that is pleasant for you outside the apartment or house - on the street. In this place, you should spend from 10-15 minutes, standing there with your eyes closed and absorbing the atmosphere of this place. Then, while still outside, you need to take a deep breath and imagine that you are on a sofa or chair that is comfortable for you. As you feel this, you should slowly open your eyes and imagine that everything you see around you is a consequence of your experience outside of the bodily journey. Through inhalation, you should take a good look at the surrounding place and gradually begin to move to the room in the house that you have chosen for practice. Since, according to your conviction, you are now getting your first out-of-body experience, it is better to avoid communication with people so as not to break the chain of work with consciousness that is important for this method. Then, after you spend 10-15 minutes in the apartment, you should return to the street, close your eyes and, taking a deep breath, imagine that you are currently indoors, on your sofa or chair. After that, the eyes must be opened and returned to the apartment. Once you're in a comfortable position, relax and think back to that outdoor spot where you've just been. Try to remember how you felt on the street, how you felt, imagining that you were sitting on the couch. Next, through the breath, you should imagine that you were back in the room and try to imagine how you felt when you stood on the street and imagined that your physical body was already at home.

Despite the fact that this technique may seem confusing at first glance, it is worth understanding it, because the technique that forms its basis is best able to prepare for entering the astral.

"Matema Shinto" - exit in pairs

The Pair Exit technique is based on the fact that two people who practice lucid dreaming and feel each other non-verbally use astral projection to convey some important information. For this, it is necessary, being already out of the body, to meet in one agreed place, and, after taking exactly 60 steps, knock on the door that has arisen nearby. When it is opened, the information should be transmitted and returned exactly 60 paces back. For such a session, of course, training is required, but in the case when the exit to the astral in a couple occurs, there is a good opportunity to have support from a close friend, practicing out of body practices.

Meditation to eject the astral body from the shell

One of the main tools to prepare for entering the astral plane is meditation. Moreover, according to practicing astro-pilots, to practice it, it is better to take a sitting position and “start” relaxation of the whole body in it, based on the following algorithm of actions:

  • relax arms and legs;
  • we transfer relaxation to the muscles of the body;
  • the face relaxes;
  • the body becomes soft like plasticine, and the work of consciousness stops (for better work you can focus on your breath.

There is also a version that a good step to enter the astral plane is the well-known "Shavasana" - one of the relaxing yoga asanas. The main difference between this meditation is that the ejection of the body occurs from a lying position, and not sitting, as mentioned above.

What can you see when you enter the astral plane?

For people who are not involved in astral flights, there is a standard description of such a place as the astral and it is often compared with the stories of people who have experienced clinical death. Indeed, those who practice entering the astral plane, first of all, see a certain corridor or a deep tunnel, rotating and luminous.

In general, a journey to the astral world is a journey to exactly the same place as reality. This means that in the astral you should not expect to meet the heroes of science fiction films or any fictional creatures. Here there is a high probability of meeting only those who have long gone to another world, or those with whom you have not had a meeting for a very long time, but these people are significant to you - the fact is that in the astral space there is no concept of time by which we used to.

What can you feel when entering the astral plane

Being in the astral plane, you can track how your presence here is from your existence in reality. According to practicing astro-pilots, the astral world provides additional, unlimited possibilities for the body, such as passing through walls, the ability to fly, understanding the language of animals and plants, and much more. In general, the existence of such opportunities is explained by the fact that any action in the astral projection is carried out with the help of thoughts, and the abilities of our mind, as you know, are unlimited.

As for the sensations of oneself, a person, being in the astral, recognizes his mental body as a ball or some kind of transparent figure, as he develops in the practice of entering the astral, a person can begin to see himself in a normal way.

Entering the astral world for the first time, you can feel calmness and relaxation in your whole body, lightness and a feeling as if you are floating in the air. By the way, the first exit from the body should not exceed the limit of 5 minutes, it is also not recommended to move far from the body.

Terrible dangers lie in wait in the astral plane

Practicing exits to the astral, especially if you do not follow the rules and "walk" quite far from the body, you can come across some troubles, which then have consequences in reality. The astral world originally belongs to spirits and ghosts, and each of them has its own intentions, not always good ones. Thus, going into the astral without protection, there is always a risk:

  • do not return to the ordinary world, stuck in the astral;
  • attract negative entities from the astral world with them, as a result of which there is a possibility of acquiring mental illness, popularly referred to as "obsession".

In order not to get into such situations, it is recommended to carefully study the literature on this topic and follow the rules that do not allow you to “travel” outside the home, and if you do long sessions, then secure yourself with the help of the astral exit technique in pairs.

Rules that will save in the astral from death

Before engaging in the practice of astral travel, it is worth asking yourself the question “Why do I need this?”. Having studied a sufficient amount of information on this topic, and without losing the desire to practice lucid dreaming, you should devote quite a lot of attention to protecting yourself during the sessions. Of course, the best defense is prayer and pectoral cross, which create a kind of shield on the mental level. If you do not belong to the Christian religion, then you can use any other creeds, the main thing is the light energy that arises around you from such means of protection.

Vortex method

During the First World War, the French occultist Iram most often used this method. At the same time, the American Prescott Hall went into the astral in exactly the same way. The latter published his impressions in 1916 in the Journal of the American Society for Psychical Research.

It is curious that Iram developed this technique himself, and Prescott Hall mastered it with the help of instructions received during séances with the participation of the medium Minnie Keeler.

In 1902, friends told Hall about their astral experience. At this time, Hall was very skeptical of the occult sciences. Nevertheless, he visited a medium and tried to verify the authenticity of what he heard from friends. The answers he received did not satisfy him. In 1909, he met Minnie Keeler, through whom he began to communicate with a deceased friend. In his articles, Prescott Hall refers to the medium as "Miss X" and talks about the astral experience experienced with her help.

Hall had an interesting idea. He decided that the effectiveness of séances could be proven if Miss X reported on a new method of astral exit. During the next session, he expressed his thoughts to Miss X. The latter reacted favorably to his proposal and came into contact with several deceased Eastern gurus, who began to transmit information through her. Such sessions took place every week from 1909 to 1915, and Prescott wrote down about 350 pages, the content of which concerned not only the technique of astral exit, but also touched upon many issues related to mystical philosophy.

The resulting material was so voluminous and informative that Professor James Hyslop, president of the American Society for Psychical Research and editor-in-chief of the journal of the same name, organized an investigation to determine the competence of Minnie Keeler. It turned out that this lady had read only a few popular brochures in her time and, accordingly, could not have such detailed information on the fundamental aspects of the occult sciences. Moreover, Keeler was not a professional medium and showed no interest in the information that was transmitted through her. Dr. Crookall stated that the "messages" were received by "Hall (who was skeptical about the subject itself) through the mediation of Mrs. Keeler (who showed no interest in them)".

Nevertheless, the resulting methods of astral exit attracted the attention of such authoritative researchers as Sylvan Muldoon and Hervard Carrington.

Unfortunately, Prescott Hall was extremely careless in writing down the information he received. Therefore, in 1964, Dr. Robert Crookall wrote the book "Astral Projection Techniques", in which he puts in order and systematizes the material received by Hall.

The method itself is subdivided, as it were, into two stages, the first of which is a special diet. The meal plan looks like this:

  1. The neophyte must refrain from eating meat. Some people benefit from fasting, but everyone without exception should reduce the amount of food they eat.
  2. One or two hours before the astral exit, you should completely refuse to eat.
  3. It is advisable to switch to a vegetable and fruit diet; especially useful carrots.
  4. Raw eggs also make it easier to enter the astral plane.
  5. Nuts, especially peanuts, should be completely eliminated from the diet.
  6. All fluids are good if you don't drink too much. Alcohol and coffee on the day of the astral exit are strictly contraindicated.
  7. Do not smoke or use other drugs. “Tobacco is harmful not so much because its smoking poisons the circulatory system, but because it is incompatible with the presence of benevolent spirits, communication with which is difficult.”
  8. At the end of the study, the good news is reported: "After five to six months of spiritual development ... advanced adepts can eat whatever they want."

The timing of the special diet to be followed before the first astral exit attempt is not specified. In my opinion, it should be at least two weeks.

When you feel ready to travel, make yourself comfortable in a warm, darkened room. It is recommended to "keep the body straight so as not to disturb the circulation, since blood pressure is one of the determining factors." Never cross your arms or legs.

It's a good idea to have a container of water nearby. The spirits communicated this method of protection to Hall through the mouth of Minnie Keeler. As an alternative, it was proposed to "dip your hands in the water" or use "water vapor". I think it's more practical to put a glass of water next to you and wash your hands before you travel.

Then you need to start breathing deeply and relax. “The pulsation of the brain should be synchronized with breathing. In this sense, breathing exercises are very helpful ... To exit the body, it is useful to use holding the breath while inhaling; holding the breath is of no benefit.” After breathing exercises and applying the relaxation technique, mentally draw the following picture.

Imagine yourself inside a huge cone. Mentally rise to its peak.

  1. Imagine yourself in the epicenter of a vortex flow. Mentally identify yourself with the apex point of the cone until the vortex breaks through the shell and carries you out.
  2. Options are also possible. Imagine yourself riding on the crest of a giant wave. As soon as her comb begins to twist, get rid of the bodily shell.
  3. Imagine that you are tied to a coil of rope. It starts to unwind and pulls you along; at that moment you leave the body.
  4. Imagine yourself in a barrel that gradually fills with water. As soon as the water reaches the maximum level, find the side hole and exit into the astral plane.
  5. Imagine yourself looking in a mirror. Looking closely at your own reflection, imagine how consciousness passes to your reflected double.
  6. Imagine yourself sitting on a blanket from which steam rises. Identifying yourself with the rising vapor, leave the physical body.

The main task is to divert attention from your own physical body. The above examples of visualization are the best suited for this purpose, since it is easier to create new mental images each time.

Two years later, Prescott Hall published an account of his own experiments and proposed several new imaging techniques. Unfortunately, they are not as easy to understand as the previous ones. I personally managed to use only two recommendations.

  1. Imagine yourself soaring over the Himalayas. During the flight, admire the landscape, feel how the air flows around your body, and, feeling free, rush into the astral plane.
  2. Imagine that you have become a soap bubble flying in space. Planets and other celestial bodies rush past you. Finally, the shell of the bubble bursts, and you throw off the shackles of the physical body.

As already mentioned, Iram used in France a method similar to that received by Hall through the astral channels. In the book Practical Astral Projection, Iram talks about how a hurricane caught him. According to his descriptions, the process was painful, and he was constantly on his guard, as he had no idea where his astral body would go. By an effort of will, Iram tried not to leave the room, but the hurricane carried him "into the ethereal stream", from the study of which he was unable to refuse. Iram felt himself moving at a monstrous speed, and at times heard nothing but the sounds of a "roaring storm". In general, his body was out of control, and his position before entering the stream (sitting, standing, lying on his stomach) did not matter.

However, the Frenchman noticed that, unlike other methods, using which he was physically emptied, this method had a refreshing effect on him, filling the body. life energy.

Astral travel in a dream

You already know that dreams are accompanied by an astral exit. This situation is fraught with a serious problem: as a rule, a person quickly forgets everything that he saw in a dream. This property of human memory is all the more annoying, since the masters of antiquity recommended this particular method for teaching astral projection.

The essence of the matter lies in falling asleep on the physical level, keeping the consciousness in a waking state. Some people are capable of this and do not even think about their gift.

I remember as a child I had long conversations with my sleeping younger sister; Moreover, she not only perceived my remarks, but clearly answered the questions posed. The most interesting thing was that in the dream the sister always told the truth. The family knew about this and, not without success, found out her true intentions and thoughts.

As an adult, from time to time I instilled positive attitudes in sleeping people. Sometimes such influence took place in the form of a dialogue, despite the fact that my interlocutors were fast asleep. In most cases, I brought them into a state close to wakefulness, and only after that I began to give the positive instructions that they needed. However, only a few of my patients were able to understand and consciously answer questions in their dreams, as was the case with my sister.

Many years later I recorded a special cassette to help people who want to astral travel in their dreams. I am sure that it will not be difficult for you to make such a “training manual”. You need to start with progressive relaxation that puts you to sleep, and at the same time follow the installation phrases that help you leave the physical body and go to the astral.

At the beginning of my practice, I would sit at the head of the bed and put the person to sleep. After that, I began to give instructions on leaving the physical body. My actions were determined by the fact that people fall asleep in different ways: for some it is easy to sink into oblivion, while for others, before falling asleep, they experience serious difficulties. However, I soon became convinced that after doing the progressive relaxation technique, almost everyone falls asleep within ten minutes, and there is nothing wrong with the voice continuing to give directions, while the person has already sunk into a drowsy state. This discovery allowed me to expand the range of my experiments by recording the installation text on a cassette.

If you are recording a cassette yourself, calm, soothing music, the sounds of which should not evoke memories and associations, will serve as a good background for your voice.

It is not at all necessary to transfer the version I proposed verbatim onto film. It is likely that you have already chosen the best relaxation method for you, and if it is effective, use it. If you prefer my texts, you can choose one of those offered in this book. In other words, choose the installation material to your own taste.

So, turn off the lights, go to bed and turn on the tape recorder. In no case do not make special efforts to fall asleep. Any conscious effort will work against you. While listening to the recording, your thoughts will occasionally switch to foreign objects. In this case, try to focus on the voice. There is nothing wrong with some words eluding your conscious awareness; in any case, the subconscious setting will be made.

Waking up, do not hesitate to write down your impressions in a diary. It doesn't matter what you think about the success of your experiment. Perhaps it is during the presentation of nightly events on paper that you will come to the realization that your experience was nothing more than astral travel.

This method of astral exit is very effective. Personally, when I go out into the astral plane, I immediately wake up and, accordingly, fall asleep upon returning to the physical shell. For some people, this experience seems more like a dream than a reality. They claim that they did not wake up at all, although the next morning they are able to reproduce all the vicissitudes of the night's adventure.

From time to time I am asked whether such a nocturnal experience was an astral flight. Without a doubt, such an experience is a full-fledged astral journey, during which everything that happens around is perceived completely consciously. Moreover, the colors are seen brighter and more saturated, and your own well-being is no different from the usual. This does not happen in a dream.

Going into the astral plane with the help of setting records, a person sleeps, but his sleep is fundamentally different from an ordinary dream, since in essence it is an artificially induced, induced astral flight. That is why the memories of such experiences do not disappear, but remain in the memory.

Installation text for astral travel in a dream

How nice it is to lie in bed waiting for sleep. This night you will fall asleep easily and quickly and immediately go on an astral journey. You clearly imagine the purpose of your journey.

In this place, you should be silent for 15 seconds to give the person time to remember the purpose of the upcoming trip.

Take a deep, smooth breath and feel how a blissful wave of relaxation rolls over your body and spreads from the back of your head to the tips of your toes.

It's nice to relax in bed. You are already fully prepared to find yourself in the arms of Morpheus, and with each breath your body relaxes more and more. The more you relax, the more you want to sleep. The more drowsy your state, the more you relax.

Take another deep breath and visualize yourself sleeping. You see your chest rising and falling rhythmically and slowly. You breathe slowly and deeply. You see that the body is completely, completely relaxed, peaceful and immersed in a deep sleep - a restorative, healing sleep that energizes every cell of the body with vital energy. What a wonderful state of peace and tranquility.

How nice it is to sail on this wave and soar, obeying the flow, and be free from everything. With each breath you sink deeper into the fabulous world of complete, total, absolute relaxation.

It seems to you that you are floating on a fluffy cloud, and, watching the earth from above, you relax. It's a wonderful feeling with every breath you get more and more relaxed.

Imagine yourself sitting in a comfortable rocking chair. You are on a shady veranda, and an indescribably beautiful picture appears before your eyes. The day is hot, but sitting in the shade and watching the beauty of nature with a half-asleep look is pleasant for you.

Slowly swaying in your chair, you feel your eyelids become heavy, another wave of relaxation envelops your body and lulls you.

Yes. You are ready to fall asleep and still rocking in a comfortable chair. Your eyes are closed, you do not think about anything and completely surrender to the power of the lulling movement.

You feel the chair gently lift a few centimeters into the air, and the feeling of flying relaxes you even more.

The chair slowly slides down to the steps leading down to the magnificent green lawn, and you are overcome by a blissful feeling.

Oh, how pleasant and peaceful it is to sit in an armchair that slowly rises higher and higher above the ground. Under your feet lies a wonderful, magical landscape.

And now the chair begins to pick up speed. It's a lot of fun, and as the speed of the flight increases, you relax more and more. Relaxation is complete, all-encompassing. You feel complete peace, quiet joy and pervasive relaxation.

You feel a gentle breeze chill your toes, and relaxation spreads throughout your body. The breeze begins to caress the feet. His touches are quivering, gentle and reminiscent of a light, warming massage that has a relaxing effect.

The breeze touches your ankles and knees, you realize how beautiful it is to soothe, relax and unhurried flight through space on a comfortable rocking chair.

You fly through the sky of dazzling blue towards fluffy clouds, admiring their elegant dances.

A wave of relaxation flows to the thighs, and you feel that the legs are completely relaxed; so relaxed that the sensation becomes illusory, unreal. It seems to you unwanted and meaningless any movement of the legs.

Looking at the ground, far below you see the coastline. You can clearly see the beach and the waves rolling on the sand. Looking at the continuous, eternal movement of the rolling waves, you relax. Relaxation is multiplied a thousandfold.

The gentle and gentle sea breeze penetrates the stomach and rises to chest level, and relaxation from the legs passes to the stomach and lungs.

Under the kisses of the wind, the muscles of the shoulder girdle relax, and relaxation penetrates into the arms. They fill with heaviness, and the last traces of tension disappear from the palms and fingers.

How calm and pleasant to relax in this wonderful chair, flying over the sea surface.

The breeze pleasantly cools the neck and face, and relaxation penetrates into every cell of the body. Feel the muscles in your face relax and the tension around your eyes ease. A wave of relaxation rises to the back of the head and plunges the whole body into blissful languor.

You are so relaxed that you are about to fall into sleep, and when he comes, you feel how the chair slightly lowers and takes you through space and time into a blissful distance, leaving worldly worries far behind.

Now directly below you lies a tropical island of fabulous beauty, framed by golden sand shining in the sun. You see the waves breaking on the coral reef. The sound of a wave rolling on a rock has a calming effect on you.

The rocking chair gently descends on the golden warm sand. Picking up a handful of sand, you watch how it flows through your fingers. What a good thing to be around. It's nice to relax and not think about anything.

You can hear the breeze stirring the leaves of the palm trees. You hear the rustle of waves slowly rolling on the coastal reefs. Under the rays of the gentle sun, you relax more and more completely.

You experience inexpressible bliss. Now you will fall asleep, and it will be the best sleep of your life. In a dream, you will taste exotic fruits and drink their life-giving, nectar-like juice. The turquoise lagoon beckons you into its waters, and the warm sand on the beach awaits your touch. In the morning you will wake up refreshed and full of energy.

Now you are completely relaxed. The muscles of the body are soft, pliable and as if made of cotton wool. The whole body is relaxed, completely relaxed, from the back of the head to the tips of the toes.

Now you can sleep. Immerse yourself in a healthy, pleasant, joyful and healing sleep. The rocking chair sways slightly, and its movements lull you to sleep. As soon as you fall asleep, it will again take you up into the heavenly distances, higher and higher. As you get up, the amplitude of the swing will increase, and you will feel like you are on a giant swing, the movement of which will plunge you deeper and deeper into sleep.

And here you are in the mountains, high above the surface of the ocean, but you hardly realize it. Your only desire is sleep, sleep and more sleep. Gradually descending, you soar above the surface of the earth and slowly return to the cozy coolness of the shady veranda. How much water has flown under the bridge since you were last here!

Gradually you look around. Once you get comfortable, you remember all the details of your amazing and beautiful dream-like journey.

Oddly enough, you clearly remember everything that happened to you, and you are overcome by a feeling of satisfaction and complete peace. You are full of this feeling. It is a feeling of comfort and complete security. It is like a feeling of love, love is mutual and in demand. Pure, selfless love that brings you hitherto unknown joy.

The thought that you traveled in a rocking chair amuses you, but you know that you are capable of going anywhere, anytime.

Look at yourself sleeping peacefully in a rocking chair and you will see your astral double separate from the body and rise higher and higher, watching the physical shell left below, which is fast asleep in a comfortable chair.

Rising higher and higher, you notice how the figure in the chair decreases. At that moment, you realize that you are free to go anywhere.

Enjoy this feeling of freedom. From the height of the flight, you can see the fields, gardens, villages and cities lying below.

Your sensations are so delightful that you are ready to soar like this all night long. But you remember that you have a specific goal, and you know that you can find yourself in a pre-selected area in the blink of an eye, you just have to think about it.

So think about it now!

Pause (15 seconds).

Great, you are already in the place you thought of.

Take a look around. Not the slightest detail should escape your attention. All contours should be clear, and colors should be saturated. Feel the surrounding landscape with every cell of your being. Smell the smells, feel the air temperature, listen to the sounds and be fully aware of what is happening.

Realize that all the details and events of this astral journey will remain in your memory. Remember that you are free from the fetters of the physical body and are free to do whatever you please. Absolutely nothing threatens you, you are protected and completely control the situation. You can go back at any time, but nothing prevents you from extending the pleasure and exploring your surroundings in more detail. If you wish, you can go to another place, you just have to think about it. You are the master of the situation.

When you have completed your wanderings, think about returning, and in the same moment you will regain your physical form. When you return home, fall into a deep, pleasant and healing sleep. Waking up in the morning, you will feel like a million dollars. You will be cheerful, cheerful and ready for any accomplishments. Upon awakening, you will clearly remember all the details of your nightly adventure.

Miracles should not be expected from the first experience. It's good if you have distinct, recollections of the night's experience. It may turn out that when you wake up, you don’t remember anything at all.

Suppose your first experience did not bring tangible results. Sit down, grab your writing utensils, close your eyes, and try to focus on the night's experiences. Transfer to paper any image or sensation that arises in your head. This will help stimulate your memory and make you recall the details of your astral journey. Further, if in this case nothing comes to mind, do not be discouraged and be persistent in the next attempts. Sooner or later you will be able to remember absolutely everything.

Volitional Method

This method, like the previous one, is not suitable for everyone. Working as a hypnotherapist, I have heard from patients more than once that they lack willpower as such. In most cases, such an assessment is objective. As a rule, people fail to change their way of life or quit bad habit with one act of will. This happens due to the fact that our emotions prevail over reason and every time they win over it. In fact, a person who wants to lose weight, exhausted by a diet and, in a certain sense, plunged into emotional shock, cannot resist the sight of a delicious dish. Eating food, this person, realizing that he is doing wrong, experiences a feeling of emotional relief.

One way or another, the volitional method is not bad, and I know many examples of how people have achieved impressive results with its help.

Sit in a comfortable chair. As usual, the room should be warm, gloomy or slightly darkened. The phone should be turned off. Place your hands on your thighs, palms up.

Take a few deep breaths and make sure the breath is rhythmic. AT this case there is no need to focus on it.

Think about the need for an astral exit and clearly imagine the purpose of the trip. Be absolutely confident in your own strength and ability to exit.

It's time to use willpower. Mentally say: “I will leave my body. I am ready to leave my body. My astral body is ready to go. I want it to happen right now!”

Wait a few seconds and try again. You may have to repeat the procedure a dozen times, repeating the installation phrases like a mantra.

The successful realization of the exit is evidenced by the feeling of vibration and the appearance of a feeling of liberation. Having achieved this, go on a journey. If the exit attempt fails, open your eyes and take a walk in the fresh air.

While walking, think about the pleasant and drive away thoughts about the failure that has befallen you, which should be considered as another step up to the heights of success. After completing the exercise, make another attempt. After a walk, your brain is enriched with oxygen, and the chances of going into the astral are significantly increased. If, however, luck did not smile at you the second time, do not be discouraged and know that the experience was not in vain and you managed to take another step towards success. Cheer up and put off your next attempt until tomorrow.

Self-hypnosis method

This method is of undoubted interest for people who are used to giving themselves attitudes in certain life situations. I do not think that it will benefit those who do not believe in the effectiveness of self-hypnosis.

Self-hypnosis in this case means a phrase that, like a mantra, is repeated over and over again. The initial installation was the words: "Every day I feel better and better." This setting was first used at the beginning of the century by Emile Cui (1857-1926). This man helped many, and when he arrived in the States to lecture, thousands of people gathered at the pier to pay their respects to him.

The often repeated installation penetrates so deeply into the subconscious that at the right time the person executes the command automatically. It should be noted that faith in the installation does not matter. For example, mentally convincing himself of his own wealth and well-being, a person may be fully aware of the far from brilliant financial situation in which he is at the moment. However, the subconscious mind does not even suspect that a person is barely making ends meet, and will push him to financial success.

Settings can be given to anything. For example, for a long time you are not going to clean up the tool shed. Every day, 20-30 times repeat to yourself the phrase: "I clean up the barn." Note that the setting is always used in the present tense. It should not be said I will bring ..., since this can happen both tomorrow and in ten years.

It is likely that it will take some time until you find time for cleaning, but the installation is firmly "settled" in your head and, sooner or later, the job will be done.

It is very helpful to repeat the “I am happy” or “I feel great” attitude. If you have a shortage of money, repeat: “I am a rich man. I have money - chickens do not peck. Saying such phrases, you will know that you are wishful thinking, but the subconscious mind will force you to work on the proposed command.

This technique can be very useful for a successful astral exit. On the eve of the astral journey, do not get tired of repeating: “I am going on an astral journey. I'm going to leave the physical shell." It is good to say these phrases out loud, but it is equally useful to repeat them over and over again to yourself.

One evening, sit back, close your eyes, and do the progressive relaxation exercise.

Once completely relaxed, repeat the setup twice: “I am ready for astral travel. I am ready to leave my body."

Repeat the installation again and again.

By repeating these words, you mobilize your "I" to be ready for the astral exit and create an atmosphere of expectation. Do not despair after several unsuccessful attempts, but persevere in your studies, and eventually you will feel the vibration and break the bodily bonds.

Repeatedly repeated throughout the day setting to fly can also have a beneficial effect when you try to go into the astral using other methods. The subconscious will concentrate on the given program, and you will definitely fulfill your dream.

hypnotic method

In this way, I send people who are not receptive to any other methods to the astral. Due to inhibition and complexes of consciousness, some people are not capable of a full-fledged astral exit using conventional methods. This method is good because there is no need to work with the patient's consciousness, but you can directly influence the subconscious.

There are two approaches to using hypnotic trance. In the first case, a person enters a trance on his own, and in the second, he resorts to the services of an experienced hypnotist. The second method is preferable and much more efficient.

Nevertheless, you can use the first one, having previously mastered the technique of self-hypnosis.

There are many popular publications devoted to this topic, and studying the technique will not be difficult, especially if you have already mastered the technique of progressive relaxation, which is absolutely necessary for self-immersion in a hypnotic trance.

Entering a trance on your own, you should pay close attention to the technique of progressive relaxation. As soon as you feel that you can relax quickly and effortlessly, all you have to do is think about the place of the upcoming journey and imagine the very exit from the physical body. I usually imagine the area of the third eye as a "gateway" to the astral plane.

In 1970, a group of parapsychologists experimented with a combination of progressive relaxation, sound vibrations, and a rotating spiral. The spiral is quite often referred to in mystical literature as a "hypnodisc".

You will need to attach a multi-speed electric drill with a hypno disc to the cabinet. Turn on the lowest speed, sit comfortably in a reclining chair and, peering into the rotating disc, proceed to progressive relaxation. Personally, I manage to enter an auto-hypnotic state from a combination of baroque music, the sound of a drill and the rotation of a disc. Many people go into the astral without even completing the progressive relaxation technique.

The hypnotic method as a means of astral exit was especially popular at the turn of the twentieth century. The most famous example was published in the Gazette of the Society for Psychical Research.

Dr. F experimented with what he called "traveling clairvoyance." By agreement, one of his patients was supposed to be at home in the evening. At the appointed time time dr F. hypnotized a woman named Jane and ordered her to "visit" his patient, Mr. Eglinton, whom she not only did not know by name, but had no idea where he lived.

So, at the doctor's orders, Jane astrally went to his patient's quarters and accurately described the front door and knocker. No less accurate were the details regarding the details of the interior decoration, but describing the appearance of the owner of the apartment. The woman failed. She stated that she saw a fat man with an artificial leg.

The next day, it turned out that Eglinton was tired of waiting, and he, having built a kind of stuffed animal on his chair from pillows and clothes, went home. Thus, Jane's description was true.

Whatever Dr. F. called his experiment, the experience was in fact nothing more than astral travel. If Jane had used the method of clairvoyance, then the mannequin sitting in the chair would have been exposed. During the astral exit, the woman simply stated what she saw and could not distinguish the stuffed animal from the living person.

Having become acquainted with various methods, you can try each of them, and perhaps, like me, you will like to use all the variety of ways to enter the astral. One of my friends struggled with the volitional method of travel for several months and eventually succeeded. It is curious that before that he admitted that he had a complete lack of willpower. Currently, he goes into the astral at any moment.

Be calm, balanced, keep training, and you will succeed.

The method described by Charles Lancelin

Usually they start with a forty-day vegetarian diet, and 3 days before the experiment itself - complete clean starvation. Here is how Lancelin describes this method in one of the books.

In order to ensure the success of our astral projection, we must first of all charge the will with force, that is, charge it to such an extent that it is capable of exploding like champagne. There are several ways to achieve this state. The simplest is to repeat to yourself many times before going to bed: "I have the will, I have the energy." Repeat this until you fall asleep.

Lancelin gives an example of how a person using this method managed to perform an astral projection, even though at the last moment he abandoned his intention.

He went through this training and every evening for 40 days he thought intently about his project until half past one in the morning, after which he went to bed with a firm decision to isolate the astral double after a certain number of days. At first, the preparation went well, calmly, his will to achieve the effect did not weaken. But as the deadline approached, this enthusiasm gave way to serious reflection. One of the thoughts that took possession of him was “What if I can’t incarnate back into my physical body?” On the eve of the scheduled date, under the influence of the strongest fear, at 10 pm he decided to quit everything and went to bed with depressing regret that he had prepared everything for an experience that had to be abandoned at the last minute.

Involuntarily, without suspecting it, he found himself in the most favorable conditions for the success of the experiment, since his nerves were extremely excited by fear and vexation.

Fear

One of the main obstacles in the way of students is fear. Many fear that they may die or be harmed in some way during their journey. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Canterbury Institute, famous for its occult research, conducted an experiment with the release of the astral body, in which more than 2000 people participated. None of them suffered from this, and later also none faced new problems.

First, you should understand in advance that once you start on this path, you cannot go back - if you manage to master astral projection, it will become part of your life once and for all. Secondly, the best way out when encountering strange things during experiments is to study them. You will have to learn to control situations that arise in the astral world and control your fear.

First of all, it is necessary to recognize the existence of fear and face it face to face. Then, having defeated him, you will be able to feel like a master in the astral world and his manifestations will not have power over you.

As frightening as the practice of out-of-body travel may seem, out-of-body travel itself is usually nothing to worry about. Rather, they are filled with a sense of peace and happiness and can only frighten those who do not understand what is happening to them. Basically it's just fear of the unknown. Any person feels uncomfortable when he finds himself in a new environment, which is dominated by other laws unknown to him. However, you will understand that there is nothing to fear in the astral world when you become familiar with the following rules.

  1. The content of your experience is determined by what you believe.
  2. Differences in the emotional coloring of any situation are created by your attitude towards it. If you treat the astral world in a negative way, most likely your travels will not give you pleasure. If you are positive, adventures in the astral world will be pleasant and exciting.
  3. No spirit can take over your body while you are in the astral plane.
  4. There are no such beings as "demons".
  5. You cannot get lost in the astral world or lose connection with your body.
  6. The only thing you need to fear is the feeling of fear itself.

The following exercise will help you overcome your fears. Write in a notebook a list of all the desires, beliefs, fears, and expectations that you have.

First of all, describe your desires. Do you want to leave the body? Do you want to know higher truths than are available to us on the physical plane? What do you want from this experience?

Then describe what you believe about out-of-body experiences. Do you think there is something wrong with it? Do you think this is the work of the devil? Do you think this is just a dream? Do you believe that there are demons and spirits where you go that can harm you? Do you believe in the existence of heaven and hell? Do you believe that demons or spirits can take over your body while traveling in the astral world? Do you think out-of-body travel is sinful in the eyes of God?

Now describe your fears. Are you afraid of getting lost when you are out of your body? Are you afraid of spirits? Are you afraid of becoming obsessed with them? Are you afraid to fly? Are you afraid of heights?

Finally, describe your expectations about the out-of-body experience. Do you expect to meet angels or spirits? Do you expect to see other astral travelers? Do you expect to be weightless? Do you expect to be wearing anything?

After that, go through the entire list and check off those items that are undesirable for you. For example, if you are afraid that demons may take over your body while you are away, check this box. When you have thus isolated all the negative elements, pay attention to each of them in turn, meet them in the depths of your consciousness and overcome them. Do not attempt to start astral projection until you have overcome the negative attitudes of your own consciousness, or at least take them under the control of consciousness. When you feel that you have mastered your fears, they will no longer be able to harm you. If you were afraid of demons, then later on you will probably even meet one of them. If you don't believe in demons, then you probably won't see them. In any case, you will be immune to this fear (and to demons too).

Looking inward honestly and fighting the fears in their very hearts is not an easy task. It is hardly possible to meet a person who has overcome them all in himself. However, working with them, you will move in the right direction. And even knowing that you are winning will be enough to make out-of-body travel wonderful and delightful.

shamanic method

There are people who for thousands of years carried out an exit from the physical body, exploring the subtle worlds, drawing knowledge and strength from there. They are usually called shamans - a word from the Evenk language, which means "one who knows."

Many peoples had an idea, which is also found in our time, that the visible, physical world is only a part of the Universe. Usually it is divided into three large kingdoms: the Upper, Middle and Lower worlds. But the Middle World in which we live is far from being what it seems. It is inhabited by spirits that affect a person's life in literally all its manifestations. Therefore, a lot depends on the shaman who can see them and is able to communicate with them and control them.

The shaman enters into contact with the world of spirits by making the so-called shamanic journey. To do this, with the help of rhythmic beats on a drum or tambourine, and sometimes with the help of narcotic drugs, he introduces himself into a trance state. At this time, his soul can leave the physical body and travel to all three worlds, but most often to the Lower World, where the spirits of ancestors live, as well as animal guardians of human strength and spirits - assistants to the shaman.

In our time, shamanic travel has ceased to be the lot of the elite, and many in the West are studying this art with great success. Here we give a description of the stages of the journey to the Nether, which is usually made by beginners in courses with renowned specialists such as Michael Harner.

It should be emphasized in advance that everything that will be discussed below should be taken literally. When you enter a trance and begin the journey, it will not be just a flight of the imagination. You will truly leave your body and where you were and experience a very real journey.

To make the first journey, it is best to take the help of those who already have some skills in this area. It is especially desirable that an experienced shaman help you enter a trance with a rattle or a tambourine. If you do not find such an assistant, you can use a tape recording of a shamanic drumming. This method, however, has a significant drawback: each person needs a different, individual rhythm to help enter the trance state, and therefore you will have to go through many records until you find the most effective beat frequency for yourself. Usually effective is a strong, monotonous, constant fast pace with a frequency of about 205-220 beats per minute, while there should be no difference in the intensity of the blows or different intervals between them. Give yourself about ten minutes to travel. Tell your assistant to stop hitting after ten minutes, after doing four very hard hits first, this will be the signal to return. Then your helper should immediately start beating the drum very quickly for half a minute, thus accompanying you on your return, and finish with four more sharp strokes to indicate that the journey is completed.

A day before the start of the trip, give up the use of alcohol and substances that affect the psyche, so that the mind is freed from distracting images. For the four hours before exercise, try not to eat or eat something light.

Training

  1. Find a dark place or reduce the amount of light entering your eyes by blindfolding. Make sure no one bothers you.
  2. Lie down or sit on something. If you're afraid of taking a nap instead of traveling, sit down and lean your back against something. Take off your shoes and loosen your clothes.
  3. Take a few deep breaths, relax your arms and legs, and wait a few minutes while thinking about the mission ahead. Then close your eyes and keep them closed no matter what. Try with closed eyes to look at the bridge of the nose, at the point between the eyebrows. This will help you relax.
  4. Listen to the beats of the tambourine. Breathing deeply, listen to its sound and imagine that it is your own heart beating. Tune your ear and your own breathing to the beat of the tambourine, and you will feel the illusion of moving forward.
  5. Entrance

  1. Look inside yourself and find a hole there leading down into the depths of the earth. Do not try to be critical of the image that appears. Accept it, even if it is dull and fading. It's helpful to think of a hole in the ground you've seen in your life - it could be a childhood memory or something you saw on last week. Any entrance to the earth is suitable: an animal hole, a cave, a hollow tree, a spring, a swamp or a hole made by a person. A suitable hole will be one that you find comfortable, or one that you can imagine well. Take a couple of minutes to see it without going inside. Remember the details clearly.
  2. Allow yourself to fall or swim into the tunnel that appears. It usually enters the ground at a slight angle, but sometimes it descends steeply. It happens that at first the tunnel meets you with darkness and dampness. Sometimes it has ribs. Remain calm, do not be nervous if the speed of movement is, in your opinion, insufficient, and even if you come to a complete stop. It does not matter. It doesn't matter whether you fly through the tunnel head first or feet first. It happens that the shaman passes through the tunnel so quickly that he does not even see him. Moving through the tunnel, you can run into a wall or some other obstacle. It's okay - just go around it or find a gap in it. If you don't succeed, go back and try again.
  3. In no case do not strain too much while traveling. If you do it according to all the rules, it will not require much effort. Success in the journey depends on behavior, which should be in the middle between too much and too little effort. Expect surprises. Breathe deeply and be alert. Then decide where you want to exit the tunnel and focus on your intention. As a result, you will exit exactly where you planned. Another option is also possible: the tunnel will simply end, and you will find yourself in the open air.

Journey through the world of spirits

  1. Wander around the world you find yourself in. Enjoy everything you see, be a kid in the new playground, explore. Don't expect anything ahead of time, instead be prepared for surprises.
  2. Watch the animals you meet and see if any of them show up four times. If this happens, know that you have met with your power guardian animal. Remain cautious and calm, as if you were facing a real wild animal. The animal will not attack you, but you must win its favor. If you are familiar with your power animal, you can call him and ask him to be your guide.

Return

  1. Wait until you hear the drum beat four times, which will serve as a signal to return. Do not worry in advance and do not be nervous in anticipation of this signal. The journey usually takes 10-20 minutes.
  2. Go back the same way to the tunnel and climb it up. Don't rush, come back calmly and slowly. During your first journey, do not take any objects or animals from the spirit world with you.
  3. The moment the tambourine stops after another series of four beats, be aware that you are in the real world—feel that you are in the room or other place from which you started your journey. Then remember everything you just saw and learned. Do not try to make an effort for this - those memories that will come without effort are enough.
  4. Don't open your eyes right away. Relax and enjoy the feeling of peace. You are still between the worlds, and this state will last for several minutes (as when waking up).

Fixing

Ofiel suggests that you take a familiar route, such as the path from one room to another in your house, and memorize every detail of it. Choose at least six of its points and spend a few minutes daily looking at and memorizing them. The symbols, smells and sounds associated with these places can enhance the imagery. Having memorized the route and all its main points, you should lie down and relax, and then try to “project” into the first of the points. If the preliminary work has been done well, you will be able to progress in this way from one point to another and back again. Later, you can start an imaginary journey from the chair or bed where your body is and watch yourself make these movements, or transfer your consciousness to the one who makes them. Ofiel describes other possibilities, but the main thing is that if you have learned to make a route in your imagination, then you will be able to project along it and, as you gain practice, expand your projection.

System "Christ"

G. M. Glasking, an Australian journalist, has described this technique in several books, starting with Windows of the Mind. Three people are involved in the work according to his method: one, in fact, carries out astral projection, and two more are needed in order to prepare it. The subject lies on his back in a warm and darkened room in such a way that he does not experience any discomfort. One assistant massages his feet and ankles quite hard, even roughly, while the other holds his head. Placing the soft part of his clenched fist on the subject's forehead, he vigorously rubs it for several minutes. Such exposure causes a buzzing and noise in the subject's head, and soon he will feel a little disoriented. His legs itch, and his body feels light or floating, sometimes changing shape.

When this state is reached, exercises in the imagination begin. The subject is asked to imagine that his legs extend outward and become about an inch (2-3 cm) longer. When he is satisfied that he can do this, he must let them return to normal, and then do the same with his head, pulling it outward beyond its normal position. Alternating all the time exercises with the head and legs, the distance is gradually increased until it is possible to extend the legs and head at the same time for a distance of two feet (60 cm) or more. After this, the subject imagines that it simultaneously stretches its legs and head, becoming very long, and then "swells" upwards, filling the room, like a giant balloon. Of course, for some, these manipulations will succeed easier, for others more difficult. It should be established what pace of execution is required for each stage to be successful. Some complete this stage in five minutes, while others may not even take a quarter of an hour.

Next, the subject is asked to imagine himself outside, behind front door. He must describe in detail everything he sees, indicating the colors, materials of the door and walls, the soil and the environment. Then he needs to rise above the house in order to survey the surrounding area. In order to show that the whole scene is completely under his control, he is asked to change it from day to night and vice versa, watching the sun set and rise, and the lights go on and off. Finally he is asked to fly away and land where he wishes. For most people, imaginary scenes at this stage become so real that they land somewhere with a full sense of reality and can easily describe what they see.

How does this experience end, you ask? Usually no invitation is required for this - the subject suddenly announces himself: "I'm here" or "I'm back" and after that usually retains a complete memory of what he said and experienced. But, as with any method of astral projection, it is good to take a few minutes to relax and return to normal at the end. Interestingly, this technique is very effective in terms of detaching the subject's normal image from their body. This guides and strengthens his imagination while keeping his body free and relaxed.

meditation method

Astral exit during meditation is the least energy intensive and is one of the easiest. This conclusion is supported by numerous testimonies of people who had spontaneous astral experiences in a state of meditation. Some of the traditional methods of astral projection involve hard and prolonged practice, while the meditation method does not require any extra effort.

Sit in a comfortable reclining chair, close your eyes, relax and think about the pleasant. Within a few minutes, successively relax all the muscles until the whole body becomes “cotton-wool”.

So, physically you are relaxed. Drop all thoughts and make sure that your consciousness merges with absolute emptiness. Sometimes during mental relaxation, unusual sensations come, such as a feeling of coolness, as from a breath of a light breeze. From time to time I hear a quiet, pleasant hum in my ears. Various forms and shapes may appear before the inner eye. Contemplate them, but do not allow the activation of the thought process.

With your body and mind completely relaxed, lie down and wait. You may feel as if your head has grown in size. Spontaneous movements are also not excluded. A slight wiggle can turn into a tangible, unceasing vibration. It is at this moment that it is important not to think about anything, since the appearance of vibration indicates that you are about to leave the physical shell.

Think about the route of the upcoming trip. Call on fantasy and create a mental image. At the same time, try not to think about what you see. Try to merge with the imaginary picture.

Now you can go anywhere: to visit a loved one; to the past, for a conversation with an ancient thinker; where you have been striving to go all your life. It will not be difficult to contemplate yourself in the present, past and future. Conversation with such a triune "I" can be useful and instructive.

Look around carefully. Do not try to analyze what is happening - you will have enough time after the experiment to evaluate events.

At the end of the experience, command yourself to return to your physical body. Lie still for a couple of minutes and, after counting to five, open your eyes. Think about what you have experienced. This method raises some doubts and a number of questions. Was the exit astral or mental? Were the visual associations bright enough? How easy was the communication? If your sensations did not differ from the usual ones, you were in the astral plane.

If you still have doubts, repeat the experiment a few more times. As in any other business, skills are acquired with practice. Be persistent and persistent, and one day you will enter the astral plane through meditation.

It is possible that the exit will be so unexpected that you immediately return to the original state. Nevertheless, from now on you will realize the effectiveness of the method.

There are many ways to meditate. For example, you can chant mantras or focus on a candle; it is important to use meditation effectively as a springboard for astral flight.

french way

This method was widely used by astral travel enthusiasts in France in the late nineteenth century. At that time the French were at the forefront of research into the astral plane.

A funny incident happened to a young man who was under hypnosis. He was asked to find out what his father was doing during the experiment, and the young man's astral double saw his father on his way to a brothel. Subsequently, this fact was confirmed, and the young man vowed to repeat such experiments in the future.

Truly invaluable information was published by two French researchers. The first of these, an experienced hypnotist and secretary of the French Magnetic Society, Hector Durville, devoted most of his life to the task of proving the reality of the existence of an etheric double (astral body). Beginning in 1908, he published many reports of his observations and discoveries.

Oddly enough, the most successful experiments proved their worth with the participation of people who were very far from mystical knowledge and did not show any interest in the occult sciences. Often these people demonstrated an extraordinary ability to perceive the presence of an astral visitor in the room.

d'Urville writes: "When the phantom approaches the participants, nine out of ten are cold, the feeling disappears as soon as the phantom leaves the room. Some of them clearly recognize the movement of air, similar to that which is felt next to an electrostatic apparatus.

d'Urville believed that hypnosis was a necessary condition for achieving astral projection. His contemporary Charles Lancelin, a physician and researcher of human psychic abilities, believed that an out-of-body experience was possible without the use of hypnosis. In 1908 he published a 559-page book entitled Methodes de Dedoublement Personnel. Lancelin believed that three conditions were necessary for successful astral travel: good health, "nervous temperament", a strong conscious and subconscious desire to leave the physical shell. Under the "nervous temperament" was meant a person's predisposition to immersion in a hypnotic state. The author emphasized the importance of conscious and unconscious motivation.

The method is simple, but for most people it takes several attempts to successfully exit. I believe that this is due to the complexity of the simultaneous implementation of conscious and subconscious volitional efforts. Therefore, before adopting this method, it seems to me useful for some time (a week or so) to constantly think about astral travel. Think tirelessly about the importance of the experiment, and the appropriate setting will be fixed in your subconscious.

As usual, make sure that no one interferes with you. The room should be warm and dark. The experiment is carried out in complete solitude.

Close your eyes, focus on your breath, then on the tips of your toes. Think only of them and nothing else. Imagine how the astral body separates from the physical body in this very place.

Repeat the process, thinking about the toes of the other foot. Feel the astral body separating from the legs to the back of the head. At this point, imagine the double flowing around the physical body.

Concentrate your will in the forehead and wish to go into the astral. At this point, both conscious and subconscious motivations should work. Wish it with all the fibers of your soul, and you will feel yourself flying up to the ceiling, watching from above the body left on the bed.

According to Dr. Lancelin, it is necessary to prepare for an astral exit for a long time and carefully. Based on his observations, he became convinced that getting out of the body rarely happens on the first try. The French researcher believed that in order to achieve a result, it is necessary to spend a lot of effort, patience and time in the presence of determining factors of conscious and subconscious motivation.

The method described by Alice Bailey

Going to sleep, learn to remove consciousness into the head. This should be practiced as a specific exercise when: you go to bed. You must not allow yourself to slowly dissolve when falling asleep, try to keep the consciousness whole until you have mastered the conscious exit into the astral plane. Practice relaxation, unwavering attention, and persistently rising to the center in the head. And here's why: until the beginner has learned to be constantly aware of all the processes that accompany falling asleep, while maintaining control over himself, such work is accompanied by danger. The first steps should be sensible and practiced over many years until the ease of removal is achieved.

Method of exit with the help of the astral "rope"

This technique is so named because its key component is an invisible imaginary rope attached to the ceiling of your room. It is used to exert a pulling effect on some point of the astral body and thus cause it to separate from the physical body.

This technique is more effective than other, passive and indirect methods - relaxation in anticipation of vibrations or visualization of oneself outside one's own body. As far as vibrations are concerned, they are a side effect and not the cause of astral projection. When enough pressure is applied to the astral body so that it loosens its connection with the physical body and begins to separate, the human energy cocoon expands and a large flow of energy begins to flow into it through the chakra system. This energy, coming through hundreds of large and small chakras and the meridians connecting them, causes vibrations. The same process usually occurs during sleep, but the sense organs are disconnected from the brain at this time and are not able to register it.

Creating pressure on the astral body

More passive and indirect than the proposed methods of astral projection act on the astral body and stimulate its separation, but the effort applied with their help is unconcentrated and distributed over a fairly large area, and this weakens the effect of its impact. In addition, although they give some attention to moving the center of awareness to a point outside the physical body, they do not explain in any way the mechanism by which this action contributes to the implementation of astral projection, namely that any mental operation that moves the center of awareness outward automatically exerts pressure to the astral body.

This method is based on the modeling in the mind of a simple and quite unambiguous action, on which it is easy to concentrate attention - mental lifting with the help of hands up a rope tied to the ceiling. This technique allows you to concentrate all the forces of the mind in one dynamic action, due to which a significant pulling force is applied to the smallest area of \u200b\u200bthe astral body.

There are other, more subtle and disguised ways of influencing the astral body. These include, for example, most of the meditative techniques that can be called passive methods of working with the astral body. Whatever the technique of meditation, it is aimed at moving the attention deep into oneself, which is often accompanied by a feeling of falling somewhere inside. This also puts pressure on the astral body, which in turn reduces brain activity and puts you in a trance where deeper levels of consciousness are manifested.

The inward-falling sensation shifts the center of awareness from the physical plane to the astral plane or higher, though not outside the physical body in terms of coordinates in space. However, the pressure created in this case on the astral body is dispersed throughout its volume and directed in the direction opposite to that which is needed for the implementation of the out-of-body experience, that is, down, not up. In other words, the astral body is passively given the opportunity to “fall out” of the physical body, but the habitual bonds that bind them remain quite strong, and this rarely allows us to achieve success in astral projection.

Most people who attempt to exit the physical body do so by passive pressure on the astral body, imagining themselves floating beside themselves and hoping that such an effort will cause an actual separation of the bodies. Others try not only to create an image in their consciousness in which their astral body is separated from the physical, but at the same time they also try to move their consciousness into a subtle body and look at the world from this point of view. This method is more efficient, but, of course, much more difficult to master. 99% of people do not have innate visualization abilities, so they need to go through a lot of training if they want to create a more or less realistic image of themselves outside their own body. And the transfer of consciousness into this image is a completely impossible task for an unprepared person. In addition, the method of visualization still affects the astral body in an indirect way, which is why its effectiveness is inferior to methods of direct influence.

All of the above, and in addition, the general lack of information about the mechanism of out-of-body experience, that is, about how exactly it occurs, determine a very large percentage of failures among those who practice astral projection.

Prolonged application of passive pressure to a large area of the astral body may eventually cause its separation. However, during this time, the complex concentration of attention necessary for good visualization can have a devastating effect on consciousness. Therefore, let's talk about another, easier, faster and more effective method of astral projection. The idea of using an imaginary cord to exit the body is not new, but only this method provides a comprehensive explanation of its mechanism of action and offers practical advice on this basis.

By knowing exactly how the method you are learning works, you will be able to use it more effectively and achieve much better results. And the fact that it reduces the time needed for projection and optimizes the use of the mental energy at your disposal allows it to be successfully used even by individuals who are not accustomed to prolonged mental effort.

One of the most important components of a successful astral projection is proper motivation. Without it, you will not be able to release enough mental energy to exit the body, and you will either simply fall asleep, or immediately after returning from the projection, you will forget everything that happened to you. Thus, it is desirable to reduce the duration of all preparatory stages to a minimum so as not to turn the entire exercise into a difficult and devastating task.

The beginner who studies astral projection is usually full of enthusiasm, which is, in essence, pure mental energy. The suggested technique, plus an explanation of how it works, brings this source of energy into play and allows it to be used to great benefit to the practitioner.

Developing a sense of "rope"

Attach a ribbon or rope to the ceiling. Let this tape hang over your chest so that you can easily reach and touch it with your hands. After that, you must touch it many times so that this feeling becomes familiar to you and fixed in your mind. The tape is a means of supporting the sense of touch. By stretching out your hands and touching it, you fix in your mind the spatial coordinates of the place where the invisible imaginary rope will be located. This rope will develop as an image in your consciousness and at the same time as a thought form on the mental plane, and in this way it will be easier for you to imagine yourself grasping it and pulling yourself up with the help of imaginary hands.

Remember, you don't have to visualize or try to see this rope, you just have to imagine where it is. After all, a feature of this method is that it does not use visualization at all.

Stretching your imaginary arms up and lifting them along an invisible rope moves the center of your consciousness out of the body and at the same time puts a lot of pressure on one single point of the astral body.

For those who have a “third eye” chakra more active than the heart chakra, which sometimes happens, it is necessary to modify this exercise so that the imaginary rope hangs not over the chest, but over the head, and thus your mental arms will not stretch perpendicular to the body, but at an angle of approximately 45 degrees to it. If you use a real ribbon for pre-preparation, as recommended, hang it over your head as well. This will allow you to make the most of the most active chakra and bring the best results.

In any case, the rope should be in the most comfortable position for you, in which it is easiest to imagine. It is important that the position of the imaginary rope and the angle of the outstretched arms are absolutely natural for you.

You are ready?

The relaxation, stillness, chakra opening, and energy uplifting exercises described above are intended to prepare you for the projection. However, during the actual exit from the body, you will not use all of them. You just need to quickly go through each stage and immediately move on to the next. If you try to work them out to the point of exhaustion every time before an astral projection, it will deplete your store of mental energy and at the time of exit you may not have the willpower and energy necessary for this.

Therefore, all developmental exercises must be performed at a different time. In the same way, any athlete performs exercises for the development of strength, endurance and agility, although they are not directly related to the sport in which he is fond of. It's just that thanks to them, he can do his main business with greater efficiency. If you try to astral project without having the "mental muscles" sufficiently developed for this, you will fail. On the other hand, no athlete will enter the competition after an exhausting workout, but a good warm-up will not hurt here. Therefore, before each attempt at astral projection, do the exercises for relaxation, entering into a trance and saturating the chakras with energy - once and as well as you have already learned it.

The whole point of learning astral projection is to learn how to separate the astral body from the physical body while maintaining a clear mind. The sooner you succeed, the better. Otherwise, you will think that it is too difficult for you and eventually give up your attempts. Therefore, it is best for beginners to focus their efforts on the most effective and at the same time the simplest methods of astral projection. Once you are successful and confident in your abilities, you can try other, more advanced out-of-body techniques.

So, before starting the experiments on the implementation of astral projection, you should get some experience in the art of relaxing the body, clearing the mind and concentration. Then you need to learn to listen to the sensations of your own body and create a clear, tangible image of "mental hands" with which you will perform certain actions both inside and outside your body. And finally, you should at least begin to open the chakras and raise the energy in them, and also spend quite a long time in a trance, getting used to this state and studying it. All of these skills will help you as you begin your out-of-body exercises. It is advisable that you do the relaxation, concentration, and calming exercises daily, while actively using your imaginary hands. Exercises for opening the chakras, raising energy and others must be performed at least once a week. It is possible more often, but it is important not to earn chronic overwork of the nervous system.

The sequence of steps in the implementation of the projection

It is difficult to give one universal sequence of steps for any person - after all, different students have different abilities and different level experience. Therefore, we will give here the most general description of the out-of-body procedure, and you yourself will supplement it with variations that take into account your desires and experience. Remember: you should use exercises that work effectively for you. Pick the combination that works best for you and works best for you.

Here is what should be the sequence of steps in the implementation of a real astral projection.

  1. Relax all the muscles in your body deeply.
  2. Clear and calm your mind by at least focusing on your own breathing.
  3. Deepen the trance in any convenient way.
  4. Raise the energy into the chakras and open them.
  5. Push your astral body out of your physical body using the imaginary rope pull up method.

Steps 3 and 4 can be reversed if you feel comfortable, i.e. you can open the chakras first and then put yourself into a trance. However, most people prefer to do these exercises in the order we have suggested because energy and chakra work is more effective when you are in a trance state. On the other hand, if you don't consider yourself to be very trance-prone, work on the chakras first - this makes it easier to enter the trance state.

Even if you are having difficulty with step 3, try using the rope climb method as a means of entering a trance until you are in that state. Then do the energy and chakra exercises and return to the rope method again.

Now let's look at this method in more detail. It will give particularly good results if you have developed the ability to concentrate, but for beginners it will most likely be the most effective. Therefore, we recommend that you master the “rope method” to perfection before learning other, more complex ones. Most people will be able to do true astral projection with it, and its duration will depend on the degree of opening of their chakras and the flow of energy achieved through them.

  1. Perform relaxation exercises until you are completely calm, but no more than a few minutes, otherwise you will exhaust the psyche.
  2. Reach up with your imaginary arms and begin to pull yourself up, hand by hand, up the strong, imaginary cord or rope hanging over you. Try to imagine a thick rough rope that you hold with both "hands".

Remember, do not try to create a visible image! You have to imagine that you are grabbing a rope and pulling yourself up on it in absolute darkness, so that you cannot see anything at all, only know its location and feel it with your sense of touch. Visualization absorbs a lot of mental energy, which is best used to put extra pressure on your astral body.

During this action, you will feel a slight "circling", especially in the upper body. This sensation arises in the astral body, freed from the fetters of the physical as a result of pressure. It will be more intense the better you concentrate on the intention to pull yourself up on the imaginary tightrope.

There are two very important remarks to be made here.

  • Carefully note any sensations like the one above, as well as feelings of pressure and dizziness that come up as you pull yourself up the rope. Try to notice what kind of mental action is causing them, and practice it so that you learn to perform this action at your own will. In general, the first few times it is better to focus on finding such an action and only then move on to the “real” projection.
  • Ignore all the sensations that you will experience during the actual projection, otherwise they will distract you, destroy your concentration and exit from the body will not succeed. Focus all your attention on one single act of climbing up an imaginary tightrope and forget about everything else. Put your whole self into this action, but do not strain your body while doing it - everything should happen only in your mind.
  1. Continue to "climb" the rope, hand by hand, and a feeling of heaviness will begin to take over. It occurs because the pressure exerted on the astral body causes you to go deeper and deeper into a trance. Ignore it and keep focusing on the "rise".
  2. Shortly thereafter, you will feel your chakras opening in response to the pressure. Again, don't stop and keep doing what you've been doing.
  3. Then you will feel a vibration, which will soon cover the whole body, and it will seem to you that it is paralyzed. Don't let yourself lose focus and keep mentally climbing the rope.
  4. And finally you will feel that you are freeing yourself from the body. Leaving it in the direction of an imaginary rope, you will find yourself hovering above it in weightlessness!

Remarks.

  • In no case do not lose concentration at the moment when the vibrations begin, and this is a rather difficult task. As mentioned above, vibrations arise as a result of the fact that a powerful stream of energy begins to flow through hundreds of large and small chakras in your body. If you can't manage to keep your attention focused when the vibrations begin, spend more time practicing concentration and you will overcome this problem.
  • Unless you have learned how to use imaginary hands to relax the muscles of the body, draw energy through the legs and open the chakras, it will probably be difficult for you to also imagine how you grab and pull the "astral rope" with them. In fact, opening the chakras is not absolutely necessary for astral projection, it just helps, and at the same time you learn how to use your "second" pair of hands.

The effectiveness of the method described above may be simply intimidating for you. It reduces the time required to master astral projection to a minimum! Once you start pulling your imaginary body up the imaginary tightrope in all seriousness and with a desire for success, it will cause you to go into a trance, open your chakras, cause vibrations, and very soon you will be out of your physical body. And although at first this whole range of new impressions will seem overwhelming to you, later you will appreciate the huge amount of mental energy that is saved in this way and which can then be used during the projection.

Those who boast of their ability to concentrate will achieve success with this method much easier and faster than with any other, even without much experience in relaxing the body and entering a trance. Another important ability is the ability to perform energetic imaginary actions without connecting the body, that is, the ability to separate imaginary and real actions.

If you feel any difficulty at any stage while using this method, pay more attention to it and engage in exercises to develop the missing ability.

There is another variation of the rope method that you can also try. Do it all preliminary actions, ending with a rise in energy and opening of the chakras, but do not proceed to the projection itself. Without closing the chakras, get up and take a break - drink tea, leaf through a book, etc. Then get back into bed (or a chair if you prefer), spend a couple of minutes relaxing, and move on to the chin-up. Such a break will increase the supply of energy in the chakras and prolong it.

How the Rope Technique Works

This method is the most dynamic of all astral projection methods, and if you master it, you will hardly need to learn any other. Let's try to understand the mechanism of its action and highlight the main points.

Cleansing Consciousness: The mental action of climbing up the tightrope draws the entire consciousness into itself without a trace, and as a result, it is freed from side thoughts.

Brain Wave Activity: The clearing of consciousness and the application of unidirectional, dynamic pressure to the astral body reduces the electrical activity of the brain.

Deep Relaxation: Decreased brainwave activity brings the body into deep relaxation.

Trance state: strong pressure applied to the astral body while the physical body is completely relaxed, plus reduced brain activity automatically puts the mind and body into a trance.

Chakras: The pressure in the trance state on the astral body entails the opening of the chakras and the increased flow of energy through them.

Vibrations: The pressure exerted on the astral body while the chakras are open causes energy to flow through the more than 300 chakras of the human body, which begin to vibrate.

Separation: The pressure exerted on the astral body when it is energized and in a state of vibration causes it to separate from the physical body.

The entire sequence of operations, from relaxation to exit from the body, takes less than fifteen minutes, and some fit into five. This quickness and ease allows you to use almost all of your mental energy in one concentrated effort. If within the first fifteen minutes you do not leave the body, it is unlikely that you will succeed in the current session. In this case, you should either get up and take a break, or get some sleep.

Problems

During the implementation of the projection, some people may feel as if "glued" in certain parts of the body. For example, a person is released from the body, but feels like something does not let him go in the abdomen or head. If this happens, continued pressure on the astral body by lifting the "rope" can cause pain or discomfort. There are two explanations for this phenomenon.

If you experience such a sensation in the abdomen, it may be due to malnutrition, for example, you ate something difficult to digest before starting exercise. To prevent this from happening, prefer light food, eat fish and white meat together with red meat, avoid fats, nuts and cheese.

If you are “attached” to the body in the head or elsewhere, a similar symptom indicates that one of your chakras is inactive, perhaps due to a blockage in the energy flow. In this case, during energy work exercises, you should pay special attention to this chakra and its opening. If you notice a problem with a particular chakra while trying to project, stop and try to open it right away. The fact that you are already in a trance when working with the chakras is especially effective will help you to do this. But now your actions have reached the goal - now return to concentration on climbing the imaginary tightrope.

Creating a special motivation to leave the body

You can force yourself to leave the body according to Muldoon and Carrington. They suggested that if the subconscious desire for something is strong enough, it will try to make the body move and get what it wants. But since the body is immobilized (for example, during sleep), the astral body moves instead of it. Many motivations can be used for this. This is how S. Muldoon advises you to choose your desire.

Now that we know what causes the subconscient Will to separate the astral body from the physical, we must develop one of the factors sufficiently in ourselves that it will come to the surface or remain on the surface of the subconscious Mind after we fall asleep.

In choosing this factor, you should analyze them all and decide which one suits you best, that is, the one that will not be difficult to imprint in the subconscious Mind and which you have already developed to some extent. Ask yourself the following questions: “Do I have a desire that I often satisfy in a dream? Or one that strongly takes possession of me during the day?”, “Does my astral body have to move in order to satisfy it?”, “Is it a sexual desire?” (if so, do not use this factor - it will not allow you to keep the physical body passive), "Is it a desire to take revenge on someone?" (if so, do not develop it), “Do I have a habit that I like?”, “Is it desirable for me?”, “Do I often dream about how I perform these habitual actions?”, “This fact simply indicates that the habit is deeply rooted in the subconscious Mind and reminds of itself during sleep. Is it part of my daily activities?”, “Do I enjoy my daily activities?” etc.

By asking yourself questions like these, you can determine which factor is best for you—the one that takes into account your individual characteristics. If you take into account the rules of astral projection, your choice will be more scientific. I am not going to impose my opinion on you in choosing a factor, but I advise, for many reasons, to try "thirst".

Firstly, why develop some kind of habit in yourself, spending weeks and even months on it, when you can imprint the desire to drink in the subconscious Mind in a few hours and without much effort? Secondly, the thirst must be satisfied; the subconscious knows this and will try at all costs to bring the body to the water, and therefore it will set the astral body in motion if the physical body does not give in to it.

To apply the thirst-based motivation technique, you must abstain from drinking for several hours before going to bed. During the day, increase your thirst in any way you can. Hold a glass of water in front of you and look at it, imagining what you are drinking, but not allowing yourself to do so. Before you lie down, eat 1/8 teaspoon of salt. Place a glass of water some distance from the bed and rehearse the steps needed to get it, like getting up, crossing the room, and so on.

After that, you should go to bed. As far as possible, now try not to think about your thirst, but relax, slowing down your pulse. If you can't sleep, take a sip of salted water and your desire will increase when you fall asleep. The body should become unexcited, so you should relax by slowing down your breathing and heart rate and try to sleep. As you fall asleep, imagine a glass of water and your astral body moving towards it. The suggestion you make to yourself should bring about the desired out-of-body experience. This method is neither one of the most pleasant, nor one of the most effective.

The method of exiting the physical body with the help of "swing"

Setting

Most out-of-body researchers agree with the view that our subconscious makes us leave the body every night. With the help of certain exercises, you can learn to use this fact and train the subconscious mind to "awaken" you after it leaves the body. There are many methods for imprinting the desired attunement into the subconscious: self-hypnosis, reading certain books, listening to subconscious suggestions and music to help you get out of the body, and visualizing a special kind of images.

The first method, self-hypnosis, is as follows: you repeatedly repeat to yourself something like "I want to have an out-of-body experience" or "I want to leave my body." best time for this is immediately preceding the moment of falling asleep and especially the morning when you just woke up. In these moments you are in a very close connection with your subconscious. Do not rush to get out of bed in the morning. If possible, spend about half an hour communicating with the hidden areas of your consciousness. Do the necessary auto-suggestion and don't forget to reinforce it a few more times during the day.

The second method is to read books like the one you now hold in your hands. Many note that the likelihood of an exit from the physical body increases for some time after reading the next book on astral projection or something like that. When you read about out-of-body experiences and naturally think about it at the same time, your subconscious mind receives a kind of additional suggestion that is often more effective than a direct command.

The third method is listening to suggestive, hypnotic tapes. A large selection of such recordings is offered, for example, by the Monroe Institute.

The fourth method involves the use of the imagination. Suggestion made using visual images is usually more effective than verbal suggestion. Imagine your consciousness separating from your body, and at the same time say to yourself: “Yes, I can do it!” As vividly as possible, imagine scenes in which you are either flying above the ground or "shooting" your own body into space. Again, such suggestions must be repeated several times a day, and they are especially effective in the morning, immediately after waking up.

The last method is to listen to music that in one way or another reminds your subconscious of the task assigned to it. It doesn't matter what kind of music it will be, as long as it evokes the necessary associations.

Body preparation

The best time to try to get out of the physical body is in the morning when you have just woken up naturally (that is, not from an alarm clock). Since most people work on weekdays, it will be easier for them to do this on a day off. Give your body a proper rest. It is known that different people sleep takes different times. The trick here is to keep the body slightly tired (this keeps it relaxed) but not too tired at the same time. If you don’t get enough sleep, you will be too tired and in the process of exercising again “fall through” into a deep sleep. If you oversleep, your body will be overly alert and your mind will not be able to focus well. In a word, the body should rest well, but, nevertheless, remain relaxed, and the mind should be alert.

Over time, perhaps you will learn to accurately determine the degree of your fatigue. If you feel too tired, stretch in bed or shake off sleep. Many people prefer to get up and have a cup of coffee first. This is quite enough to keep you from falling asleep again during the exercise. In general, before starting, it is better to fully wake up.

Listening to music is a good way to relax and calm the mind. There is nothing wrong with listening to soothing music during the out of the physical body, but sometimes it can be a hindrance: when you listen to sounds from outside, attention is distracted and unable to focus on yourself.

Also, if you listen to music in the evening before going to bed, you may find yourself too sleepy and relaxed the next morning.

Make sure that during the exercise there is a normal blood circulation in the body. Take a position in which you will be insured against numbness of the limbs.

It is very important that nothing distracts you during the exercise. Do not open windows so that street noises cannot interfere with you, turn off the phone, turn off the radio, TV and other noisy appliances. Do not set in advance any restrictions on the duration of the exercise. The need to look at the clock, as well as worrying about whether the allotted time has run out, is very distracting. Finally, empty your bladder before starting the exercise.

Step 1. Relaxation

One of the most important conditions for leaving the physical body is its complete relaxation. The importance of relaxation lies in the fact that if the body is not relaxed, too many distracting signals come from it. Studies conducted in laboratories on astral travelers using special equipment have shown that during an out-of-body experience the physical body is more relaxed than during sleep. Ideally, the degree of its relaxation should be absolute. To be able to achieve this, you must try to practice the art of relaxation as often as possible.

Relax your body, starting from the tips of your toes and moving towards your head, until the tension leaves all your muscles, including those of your face. You can use any technique you know for this, and if you don’t know it, try the following: tense each muscle in turn and keep it in tension until you feel a slight fatigue; then relax it and listen to the sensations that arise. When you do this with all the muscles, check if there is any tension left.

In the end, you will notice that the more relaxed the body, the less signals it sends. Support this feeling: as you relax, try to visualize as vividly as possible that you don't have your left arm, as if it were cut off and you couldn't feel it. When you actually manage to feel it, the hand will be truly relaxed. Then do the same with the other arm and legs. Try to imagine your hands lying in positions that are not the same as they really are, and see how realistic this can be. If you can use your imagination to feel that your hands are in a different position, consider that your body is relaxed enough.

Now you need to properly relax the muscles of the face. Here is one of the possible tricks - without opening your eyes, start peering into the blackness in front of you and at the same time slowly tighten your eyebrows and raise your eyes up until you feel fatigue in the muscles of your eyebrows. Then, for 15 seconds, completely relax all the muscles of the face. Repeat the first part one more time and then, when the brow muscles get tired again, relax them for another 15 seconds. Do this 6-7 times, then completely relax the whole body again and try to clear your mind of all thoughts. Already at this moment you can feel the appearance of vibrations, which will make the rest of the steps of the exercise unnecessary. Otherwise, move on to the next step and try not to pay any more attention to your body.

Step 2: Calming and Focusing the Mind

This step is the most important. There are five key points that consciousness must focus on in order to have an out-of-body experience: state of mind, realism, movement, receptivity, and passivity.

When you are trying to break out of the physical body, the most important condition for this will be the state of your mind. When you are in your "ideal" state, leaving your body is no more difficult than child's play, and as natural and easy as breathing. Otherwise, the task becomes much more complicated (but does not become impossible). It is impossible to "teach" the required state, but it is possible to describe it. Later, when you astral project, you yourself will know exactly what state of mind it requires. This is the position of a silent, absolutely passive, focused observer. In this state, consciousness does not wander anywhere, emotions are absent. You are not trying to analyze anything, just observe. In many methods of generating out-of-body experiences important role visualization of images plays, and a passive state of mind facilitates this process and allows you to keep a mental image of an object in front of your eyes for a long time.

The second point, realism, is related to the degree of focus. We can say that the world around us looks real to us, because our attention is tightly focused on it. You need to learn to collect your consciousness in a single beam and focus your attention on a point outside your physical body to such an extent that the sensations that arise become realistic.

The third point concerns the oscillatory movement, which each person, if desired, is able to feel inside his body. To do this, you must first imagine it in your mind, and later it will become absolutely real. At this point, you can use the sensation of hesitation to "push" yourself out of your body. Imagine that your body is rocking back and forth or left and right evenly and gently, and try to make this sensation as alive as possible.

The next important point is susceptibility. An attentive and open state of mind is necessary in order to create a sense of vibration in the body. You must accept whatever you feel during your exercise.

And finally, the last important aspect is passivity. The more passive your state is, the easier it is to get out of the body. As long as you have a conscious "controlling interest" whose purpose is to astral project, your consciousness remains too focused on the material plane. Give up this attitude, think like this: I do the exercises not because I want to succeed with them, but simply for the sake of the exercises themselves, or to see what happens next. In short, the cause must be passive. While doing the exercises, think only about the present moment and accept everything that happens. Try to be in a position where it really doesn't matter to you what happens next. Live in the moment and don't think about what will happen in the future. If your senses bring you information about something happening, keep a passive attitude. The most you can afford is to think, “Oh, good!” - and continue to lie, holding the created mental images.

In such a passive state, you can start any actions (for example, visualization of images) without reacting to them. If you become interested in them and begin to respond to your own thoughts and perceived images, you will simply fall asleep. If you manage to maintain a state of detachment and keep your consciousness from falling into the trap of sleep, thereby you can keep it clear even when it leaves the body. All you need to do this is to maintain the position of a passive observer.

Slow down your thought processes, and then free your mind from thoughts in general. There are a number of methods for this, and if you are not familiar with any of them, try this one: with your eyes closed, imagine that you are looking at something straight ahead, but do not create any form. Just quietly look at the inner screen of your consciousness, on which there is nothing but darkness.

Step 3. Walk on the Edge of Consciousness

The next step is to "walk the edge of consciousness" and explore the line between being awake and sleeping. Start falling asleep, but catch yourself doing it, wake up and make sure you are fully awake. Now start falling asleep again, only this time go a little further and wake up again. Do this several times until your body is very relaxed and your mind is completely in the passive observer state discussed above.

Step 4. Visualization of the object

Now imagine a small object, such as a cube, that is about 1.5-2 meters above your face. Create a clear image of this cube in your mind. Don't move on to the next steps until you succeed.

Step 5. Slight offset, object

Start slightly moving the object created in your imagination towards you and away from you, it will visually increase and decrease a little. Visualize just a small, slow shift at first.

Continue this reciprocating movement, trying to keep it even and rhythmic. Don't let the cube stop. The idea of a moving object will help to fix its image in the mind and make it realistic.

Step 6: Increasing the Bias

Now slowly increase the distance that the object you represent moves. Keep rocking it back and forth and each time bring it closer to your face. At the same time, you may notice that his image has become even more alive. See if you have a sense of perspective and depth. Every time your object gets closer, it should get bigger, and every time it moves away, it should get smaller. Remember to keep a passive, silent state of mind.

Step 7. Swing in antiphase with the displacement of the object

Try to feel as if you are swaying in the opposite direction of the movement of the object you created. Imagine that it has a strong gravity that affects you. When an object approaches you, you are attracted to it. When it is removed, you return to your original position inside your body.

As the cube gets closer and closer to you, you should feel its gravity pulling you more and more towards it.

Step 8 Grab the Object and Exit the Body

When the mental image you present becomes very vivid and vivid, “grab” it at the moment of approach with your consciousness. And as soon as the object begins to come back, your consciousness will follow it and be pulled out of the physical body.

So, you will achieve what you want and find yourself out of the body. Now you can abandon the passive, silent state of mind. With a clear consciousness, experiencing a surge of vivacity, proceed to the study of the subtle world!

Helpful Hints

During this exercise, it is important to check yourself to see if you are asleep. Ask yourself: "Is this really happening or am I dreaming?" Later, when you return to your body, remember how clear your mind was during this experience.

Learning how to leave the body takes a lot of time, practice and patience. Don't expect success to come to you overnight. The exercise described above is very complex, has many subtleties, and you will have to repeat it more than once in order to remember all the details and succeed. Some spend whole years on it, and some fail to achieve positive results precisely because they are too zealous. Do not repeat their mistake, because the main condition for leaving the physical body is the relaxation of the body and soul. And remember, the first time is the hardest. Once you have astral projected for the first time, subsequent attempts will be much easier.

And don't be afraid to experiment. Try new methods, develop new techniques, and use whatever works best for you.

Trance Entry-Based Method

For most people, going out of the physical body can seem like a daunting task, especially when you consider how small the percentage of those who experience this state is. However, there is a relatively easy method that does not require you to work hard for a long time on the development of your own consciousness and psychic abilities. It is based on entering a trance state in which out-of-body experiences arise freely and naturally.

First of all, let's try to define: what is trance? It is unlikely that there is an unambiguous interpretation of this term, however, a mandatory feature of any trance state is that the consciousness in it is not focused on the surrounding physical world, as it usually happens during wakefulness. You can achieve a trance state different ways, for example, through hypnosis or meditation, and the method described below has much in common with meditative techniques. At the same time, it is not so important for us to know exactly what trance is. Much greater value has the ability to enter this state in order to achieve its goal.

Unlike guided dreams, the implementation of astral projection through trance is more direct and immediate, since it does not require prior falling asleep, which is inevitably accompanied by a temporary loss of control over consciousness. Your attention often remains focused and conscious even at the moment of crossing the border between the physical and subtle worlds. Therefore, you can literally feel yourself leaving the body.

In general, from the point of view of the continuity of consciousness, during the use of the trance method, there are two possible options. The first, which has already been mentioned above, is that you move into an out-of-body existence with full consciousness. The essence of the second is that in your mind there is something like an instant clouding - literally for a fraction of a second - after which you feel yourself outside the physical body. In any case, the transition to a new state occurs almost instantly, unlike controlled dreams, where you can sleep for several hours before becoming aware of yourself sleeping.

So, let's briefly consider the main points of the trance method, after which we will pay closer attention to each of them.

Entering into a trance begins in the same way as the process of falling asleep. You lie down in bed and relax properly. However, do not fall asleep in any case: instead, you need to ensure that the body falls asleep, while the mind remains alert and concentrated. If you manage to maintain this state, eventually you will feel like you are "sliding out" or something is "pushing" you out of the body into space. At that moment, you will find yourself either in a certain place (not necessarily existing in the physical world), or in the void. In any case, it will already be a real out-of-body experience (astral projection). After that, you will begin your journey in the astral world until something (a phone call, the need to go to the toilet, an inner sensation, etc.) forces you out of the trance.

Entering a trance

So, you lie down in bed with the intention of astral projection. What's next? First of all, here is a list of conditions, the fulfillment of which is important for easy entry into a trance.

  1. Go to the toilet in advance, otherwise the physiological needs of the body may interfere with you at the most important moment.
  2. It is best if you feel a little tired, but not too much, otherwise you will just fall asleep soundly. If you are too alert and rested, then without proper experience you will not be able to relax properly.
  3. Make sure you feel comfortable. You should not lie down so that, say, your arm or neck becomes numb. Find a comfortable position for yourself. Some like to have their head rest on a thin pillow, while others like it the other way around. Over time, you will know exactly which body position suits you best. It may be better for you not to lie on the bed, but to sit in a chair. Feel free to experiment.
  4. It is desirable to exclude all external irritants. A slight habitual noise, such as the ticking of a clock, may not distract you from entering the trance state, but a phone call will no doubt. Also, keep your body at a comfortable temperature. It is known that during sleep people experience a subjective sensation of cold, so it is worth covering yourself with something light.

After fulfilling these conditions, you just have to lie down and relax. As mentioned above, you should try to get the body to sleep and the mind to stay awake. This is where concentration and relaxation come in handy. Relax your body as much as possible, but keep your mind focused. To achieve this, you must constantly think about something, no matter what. The main thing is not to let thoughts dissipate and start aimless wandering.

One good way is not to think about anything in particular, but simply peer into the blackness in front of your eyes closed, while being aware of your own intention to perform an astral projection (no need to say anything to yourself for this) and allowing the body to relax as it wants to. .

We emphasize once again that the most important thing at this time is to maintain awareness of what is happening to you. Your mind must be focused on the fact that you are aware of yourself, as in a controlled dream. The difference between the method described here and lucid dreaming is that you make the transition from the physical world to the astral world (or the world of dreams, which will suit skeptics more) without losing consciousness. Think about anything, but as soon as your thoughts start wandering too far and you realize that you have fallen into a dream, bring your attention back to the center of consciousness and to the fact that you are and that you are about to astral project. This is a very important point, and you will understand this if you try to observe yourself, going to bed at night. It is easy to see that the process of falling asleep begins precisely at the moment when your mind begins to wander and jump from one random thought to another. You think about anything at the same time: about what happened during the day, what worries you, about someone you love, etc. Without noticing it, you eventually get lost among these thoughts, and your next conscious impression is the moment you wake up in the morning. So, in our case, this cannot be allowed. There is nothing wrong with the mind wandering, as long as you remember to constantly bring it back to the awareness of yourself lying in bed and about to astral project.

At the same time, you continue to continuously relax your body. And at some point you will feel that it has become heavy, as sometimes happens when falling asleep. This indicates a fairly deep degree of relaxation. Gradually, your internal state will begin to change, which in turn will signal to you that the trance is deepening and that you are approaching the moment of leaving the body.

hypnotic images

If you decide not to focus on any thought or image, but simply stare into the blackness before your eyes, you will soon discover that it is not just flat darkness, but something more. And in the end you will see how in this blackness something is moving, resembling millions of sparks of yellow electric light, which are randomly moving in many different directions. It must be emphasized that the word "see" is used here in a literal sense. This picture is not a figment of your imagination, and you see it not mentally, but right before your eyes. For example, if you want to imagine your mother, you can call up in your mind an image of her, but to maintain it you will need to expend a certain amount of psychic energy, otherwise it will go out (which will happen in the end anyway). But in order to look at the needles of yellow light that we just talked about, you do not need to strain your consciousness and try to keep them in front of your eyes. They arise by themselves as a product of the activity of the nerve endings of the retina. Psychologists have long discovered this property of the human eye, and there is nothing unusual about it. Some people can observe it even with their eyes open. It does not matter how science explains this phenomenon, the main thing is that we can use it to our great advantage. In fact, these small lights flickering before the eyes represent one of the fastest and easiest passages to the astral plane.

So, you peer into the blackness in front of your eyes until you begin to notice the yellow sparks dancing in it, and at the same time watch the focus of your consciousness and the relaxation of your whole body. At some point, the darkness before the eyes ceases to be “flat” and acquires depth. At the same time, there is a feeling that there is a free space in front of you, into which you could even penetrate if you did not continue to still feel your arms, legs and other parts of the body lying on the bed. Despite this, you continue to observe the black space, and it begins to move, rotating and curling up, as if repeating the movements of small yellow sparks.

At this point, it is important to link the changes in the picture you are observing with the simultaneous changes in the sensations coming from the body. Both the first and second usually occur simultaneously. As relaxation deepens, breathing becomes deeper and more rhythmic, limbs become heavier, and as this heaviness overwhelms your body and your consciousness stops receiving signals from it, the flat darkness before your eyes turns into a black space in which you can move. From the point of view of the physiology of the brain, at this moment stable alpha waves develop in it, which are an indicator of deep relaxation. Nevertheless, you remain aware that you are lying in bed, and even pick up sounds coming from outside.

Once alpha waves begin to arise in your brain, you can witness some pretty strange things. Sometimes a purple light will flash before your eyes, as if one of the sparks we talked about becomes a bunch of bright light for a fraction of a second and immediately goes out.

Another common occurrence is that one of the twinkling sparks suddenly flares up and turns into a small round window! Sometimes it just stays open for a moment, and you do not have time to see anything in it. Sometimes you see some kind of scene in it, as if you are actually looking through a small window. And sometimes it persists for a few seconds.

And at the moment when you pay attention to the phenomena described above, it is as if something breaks through to the surface of consciousness and you begin to observe strange pictures. This is called hypnotic imagination. The involuntary appearance in the mind of various mental images that are generated by the subconscious and may be completely unexpected for you is a sign of entering a deep trance and indicates that you are already very close to the implementation of astral projection.

Psychologists discovered hypnotic images about a hundred years ago. The state in which they appear is called hypnogogic and occurs during the transition from wakefulness to sleep. There is also a reverse transition - from sleep to wakefulness, during which consciousness is also in a borderline state (hypnopompic), but we are not interested in it at the moment. Only the entrance to the astral projection is carried out gradually; you always get out of it immediately and completely. When the out-of-body experience ends, you instantly return to the physical plane, and all that remains for you is to remember your adventures and open your eyes.

The phenomena associated with hypnotic imagination were first discovered and studied by those who were interested in the mechanism of dream formation. As it turned out, many people see very vivid and vivid images reminiscent of reality before falling asleep, and at the same time they still maintain a state of wakefulness. These people can see faces, scenes, landscapes, strange colors, colorful clouds, flickering lights, anything. Some even smell and hear sounds, also related to hypnotic imagery.

These phenomena are very useful to study for anyone who is interested in the principles of their own psyche, dreams and out-of-body experiences. For us, in this case, it is important to understand the fact that the emergence of hypnotic images is a harbinger of astral projection. So that you can recognize these images when you have them, and appreciate all their unpredictability, below are some of their descriptions recorded by people who used the trance method.

“... I lost my fixation and began to fall into a dream ... I came back and felt my physical body. At this moment on inner screen hypnotic images began to appear. The first looked like a duck staring straight at me, although I didn't know exactly what it was, but it didn't move, only vibrated strangely, as if reflected in the rippling water. Behind this image it was possible to distinguish some kind of landscape ... "

“... I felt myself lying on the bed and at the same time I felt that I could leave the body. Hypnotic images appeared, as if I were viewing them through an open door: trees, houses, blue skies. Then I “jumped” into them and ended up on the street somewhere in the suburbs ... "

“... I relaxed and began to peer into the blackness in front of my closed eyes. Almost immediately, images began to appear there, colorful and very bright. I saw the faces of people with dark skin, reminiscent of colored portraits of Indians. At the same time, a strange effect appeared when I first looked at the face from one angle, and then it turned the other side and at the same time turned into another face. Then all the faces stopped rotating and, receding into the darkness, merged into some kind of ball, which then acquired the colors of the American flag. As the ball began to move away, I tried to "push" myself after it. It worked and I ended up floating in the next room…”

Probably, all hypnotic images have well-defined causes of their occurrence, which lie in the subconscious, but most of them seem to be absolutely abstract and devoid of any semantic or symbolic load.

I would like to talk about one of the types of these images that you may encounter in more detail. Sometimes during relaxation and entering into a trance, you suddenly clearly see in front of you the very room in which you are lying, as if examining it through closed eyelids. This happens quite often; it is even possible that this spectacle will be the first hypnotic image you encounter. Do not attach too much importance to this, just realize the nature of the phenomenon and know that you are already close to the implementation of a real astral projection. After some time, the image of the room will disappear and be replaced by other hypnotic pictures.

There is no satisfactory explanation for this phenomenon in science, and psychologists could only fix the fact of its existence, but not describe the mechanism of its appearance. On the other hand, occultists have their own, completely complete theory regarding hypnotic images, only they call them differently - clairvoyance. The reason for the emergence of these images, they believe, is the movement of the consciousness of the person observing them from his physical body to the ethereal, astral or mental. A more complete explanation involves the theory of chakras.

One last note about hypnotic images: never be afraid of them, no matter how intimidating they may seem. You may see decomposing bodies or horrible monsters, but don't get caught up in the feelings that come with it. All these are just incorporeal images that cannot harm you in any way. Just make a mental note of the fact that you are seeing hypnotic images and are close to leaving the physical body, and relax. If you start worrying, it will break the trance.

Now let's move on to the next important aspect: work with signals coming from the body.

kinesthetic sensations

According to the dictionary, the term “kinesthetic sensations” refers to “signals transmitted by nerve endings present in muscles, ligaments and joints and arising from movement or tension of the body; as well as the sensory information these signals carry.” In other words, it is your sense of your own body and its movements. This is the same full sense as sight, hearing or touch. You know where your arms and legs are, you know the sensations transmitted to you by all the cells of your body, and so on. When you try to put yourself into a trance, you are still aware of your body lying in bed, and focusing on this feeling is an important part of the trance method. As you listen to your inner sensations, you notice that they change as the trance deepens, and you use that sensation as a feedback mechanism, as well as to keep you awake. In fact, you will know that you can already leave the body, precisely by changing kinesthetic sensations.

Let's deviate a little from the main topic of our discussion and remember that sometimes, after hard work or a sleepless night, a person goes to bed and it seems to him that he is rapidly falling somewhere. It is a very tangible, bodily sensation, and it comes on suddenly. If this has happened to you, then you know what it means to leave the physical body.

So, you lie down and relax, the body becomes heavier and heavier, and suddenly you have the feeling that you, as we said, are falling somewhere or slipping forward. Before this, you may observe hypnotic images, but they may not be there. Be that as it may, the main thing when such kinesthetic sensations appear is not to lose your calm. Don't be afraid, and everything will go well: such feelings indicate that you are leaving your own physical body. If you do not show internal resistance and allow the situation to develop, everything will go well and you will carry out what you have planned. Then you will find yourself in total darkness. Don't be afraid of it. You have already left your body, but you are nowhere yet.

In fact, this is a very good place - quiet and peaceful. You can move around in it if you want, although outwardly nothing will change, or you can just sit still and listen to the silence. And, of course, it is in your power to be anywhere on the astral plane.

To do this, try looking at the arms of your new body. It may be quite difficult at first to bring them to your face, but you can do it. And find that you have no hands! However, you can look at where they should be, move your fingers, and so on. Eventually you will see your hands take on a visible shape, and at the same time a scene will begin to materialize around you! It can be said that you, with the help of your own intention, are tuning the vibrations of one of your thin bodies on the vibration of some sub-plane of the astral world. After that, you will have the feeling that you are "somewhere" are. Later we will discuss in detail what interesting places you can find yourself in.

Another way to leave "nothing" is to rotate around its own axis, like a top. Just start spinning, and when you stop doing it, you will end up somewhere. Both of these methods work, so pick whichever works best for you and stick with it.

Dive into black space is not the only option after you leave your body. It is also possible that during relaxation you will suddenly experience a cloud of consciousness that lasts only a fraction of a second. After that, you immediately regain consciousness, but you no longer feel your body and do not examine the blackness in front of your closed eyes, but are in an astral projection, anywhere - in your room, in an unfamiliar place, on the moon.

Another possibility is to use hypnotic imagery. You can just lie down and look at one of them and then jump right into it! With such an example you met above. Try to push yourself into the observed image.

Finally, by becoming well acquainted with the kinesthetic sensations that accompany a deep trance, you will learn how to enter a state where you can “push” yourself out of the body with one effort of will. Sometimes it feels like "twisting", like a butterfly leaving a cocoon. Other times you actually push off your own body, and sometimes you fall backwards. All these methods differ from others only in their activity and in the fact that real effort of will is required from you. And when you simply allow your consciousness to leave the body, this is a method that is passive in nature. Both work, but as you gain experience, you will notice that more and more you are "pushing" yourself out of the body, rather than passively allowing yourself to leave it.

Remember that the process of separation from the body, which was described above, is absolutely natural and spontaneous. Falling asleep, we all do it every night. The only difference is that when you astral project, you want to maintain a clear mind and memory. Therefore, you should not treat the out-of-body experience as something difficult and requiring a lot of effort. Calmly accept everything that happens to you, and do not allow yourself to fail and get lost in your own thoughts.

The method described by Keith Harari

Start by choosing a place inside the room that has a special meaning for you. After choosing what you need, find another convenient place in the open air in ten or fifteen minutes walk from the first. Visit a second outdoor location and stand there with your eyes closed. Take a deep breath and imagine yourself lying in a comfortable chair where you did your relaxation exercises.

Slowly open your eyes and imagine that everything you perceive physically is part of an out-of-body experience that you experience with particular intensity. Take a deep breath, take in your immediate surroundings, and absorb the sensations as fully as possible.

Continuing to sensually capture the world around you, go at a slow pace to the place you have chosen in the room. Remember that you are still supposedly out of the body. Therefore, avoid contact with people. It is necessary to take the role of an observer. If you visit your office in the middle of the night, for example, there is no need to go through the paperwork at all. After spending 15 to 20 minutes indoors, return to your second seat outdoors. Take a deep breath, close your eyes for a moment and imagine that you are at home in a comfortable chair. Then open your eyes and return home as quickly as possible.

Immediately after returning home, take off your shoes and sit in a chair, enter a state of relaxation, concentrating on the place in the open air from which you have just returned. Recall the most vivid memories of the sensations you experienced there while standing and imagining that you are sitting in a chair. Take a deep breath and imagine that you have returned to the chosen place in the room. Now remember how you felt when you stood in the air, imagining that your body returned home to the chair.

Japanese method

It was introduced by Mathema Shinto to deliver messages to distant students. The great power of visual imagination is important here. The interested person went to bed, as a rule, at the same time as the object of meditation. He took a relaxed posture and focused on this journey, and then imagined completing his mission from beginning to end. He left the house and rushed in the direction of the residence of another person. It does not matter how far it is, it is only important to walk in the imagination a given number of steps (about 60 is enough). He must count 60 steps and visualize himself standing on the threshold of this house. Then he should knock on the door to be invited to come inside and meet that person. Having clearly imagined that he delivered the message, he must then leave. Outside the house, he should count the same number of steps back until he returns home.

vibrations

Sooner or later, they will begin to appear during the exercises described above. The resulting sensation resembles an electric current flowing through the body. At first, it scares most people. Further, the feeling experienced becomes similar to unconscious fear, as if you saw a snake crawling. You just want to kill her, regardless of the fact that she does not harm you.

There is a possibility that when you finally get to really relax completely, the conscious mind will start sounding the alarm, not being able to understand the nature of the vibrations that have arisen, and will automatically prevent them from appearing. In this case, try to convince yourself that the mind is not capable of understanding all the phenomena that take place in the world, and you can only passively observe the development of events, without trying to analyze them or explain them to yourself.

If you know how to program your mind, for example, to order yourself to wake up in the morning at a certain time, you will probably also be able to use vibrations as a key to turning an ordinary dream into a lucid one. To do this, before going to bed, make yourself the following suggestion: "As soon as vibrations arise in my body during sleep, I will become conscious." In this way, you will achieve awareness right at the moment the astral body leaves the physical body.

Paralysis

This is also a common occurrence, it happens quite often. Your body becomes heavy, as if filled with lead, and no matter how hard you try, you cannot even move a finger.

When we fall asleep, the brain turns off the mechanism by which we move parts of the body. So, during sleep, the body cannot repeat the movements that we make in dreams. Very few find themselves in this state of paralysis upon awakening.

The first type, known as paralysis A, is a state achieved by entering a deeper layer of consciousness from a state of light trance during witchcraft, an out-of-body experience, or a lucid dream.

The second type, B, is the opposite of A and occurs when returning to physical reality.

Type A paralysis works like this.

"Mmm... I know I'm awake, I can think... But my body is asleep." Robert Monroe called it the focus of the 10 minds. “Wait a minute, something is happening, it seems I can’t move, it seems my body is filled with lead, why can’t I move? Hey! something happened! Guard!"

A typical paralysis B goes something like this.

“Mmm… I'm completely drunk. What was that just now, it must have been a dream... So, wait a minute, what was that noise I heard? It seems from the door... I need to check, maybe the thief... But I'm so tired, so sleepy... I have to wake up, it might be important. E! I can't seem to wake up, why don't my legs wake up, why don't my hands respond? Guard! I must wake up! I don't want to die! Hey, body, wake up, eyes, open up! Get up! Finally! I can move, I woke up, the body is covered in sweat and sits on the edge of the bed. I wonder why I just couldn't wake up! Thank God it's all over. I'm so glad to be back in my familiar physical environment."

One way or another, type A paralysis should not be resisted; if you allow yourself to "go with the flow", the altered state of consciousness that you are trying to achieve will begin.

According to Ophiel, in The Art and Practice of Astral Projection, the initiation of movement toward the out-of-body state is accompanied by strange sounds. He sees the reason for this in the fact that hearing is not transferred to higher planes and your mind is trying to recreate the input of information and has already reached a subconscious state. These noises can take any form, including voices, malevolent, creepy, or even your mom. They get worse and nastier until they reach their peak. Then they fade into a constant background hiss that continues during your out-of-body experience. The final noise may sound like an exploding radiator. Ophiel says to ignore all noises - voices and not only, because they are only the noise of the subconscious and are not some kind of spirit or other being.
